Responsibilities:
The buyer will ensure that we meet the customer demands and the brand goals by developing strategies that drive an inspiring assortment and an effective productivity plan across their respective category/categories. This position focuses on the outlet store sector of the business and has three direct reports.
• Develop assortments by analyzing product performance, customer feedback, consumer trend and competitive landscape.
• Manage open-to-buy to meet financial targets and productivity metrics at the SKU level for performance, sales, inventory, receipt and margin goals.
• Work with merchandising team on researching new trends or advances in product line to present a strong point of view that drives appropriate buying decisions.
• Manage sku lifecycle and react to in season sales to inform the strategy going forward.
• Work in partnership with Merchandising, Marketing, Ecommerce, Visual Merchandising and Store Operations teams to ensure synergies among all consumer touch points.
• Analyze and reforecast business to help implement strategies to ensure plan is achieved, including adjusting product flow and inventory management.
• Work closely with inventory management and allocation to ensure goals are met.
• Present at hindsight and first design review meetings to share season over season learning’s based on customer patterns.
• Manage and develop assistant buyers/direct reports
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5-7 years experience in buying for a vertical retailer
• Proficient in retail math
• Ability to manage others effectively
• Proficient in excel and all Microsoft applications
• Ability to multitask and focus in a busy atmosphere
• Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities
• Ability to build strong working relationships with cross functional teams
• Posses strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated success in working on a collaborative team
• Demonstrated organizational skills
