Senior Manager Merchandising, Athletics 1
Key Responsibilities:
Planning
1. Implement & contribute to category specific plan and strategy based on market data—sell-thru, customer and consumer insights.
2. Develop seasonal ranges that include national/regional launch flows and comprehensive range structure that are supported with initial CtC plans
3. Lead category development plan in alignment with global vision
4. Align vision with category vision to ensure seamless integration of divisional concepts at the POS for the consumer.
5. Lead a fluid commercial input process with full cross-functional collaboration taking into account regional needs and customer/consumer insights
6. Implement & contribute to annual category strategic plan in line with overall company objectives and potential business opportunities
7. Transfer product knowledge to sales & marketing teams to ensure consistent understanding towards products/key concepts to be able to present a professional image in front of both customers and consumers.
Management
• Be the means of contact and communication with Global BU & CtC team
1. Coordinate with Brand Communication, Retail Marketing, Marketing Operations, Sports Marketing, Newsroom, Regional Marketing and Concept-to-Consumer teams to have integrated and on-time category product launches
• Prepare and organize sales training, KA Pre-lines, trade meeting presentations, tools and packages
• Coordinate and communicate with global (and regional) colleagues for category plans, performance and review
Financial
1. Ensure products achieve target standard (list) margins
2. Assumes responsibility for P/L (up to list margin) of the category
Systems and Processes
• Implement seasonal preparation process to facilitate company business cycle
• Conduct sample management according to the sample management process
• Maintain all category relevant systems and files such as: Master Calendar files / forecasting, DMT, RMA, etc.
• Co-ordinate category communications, product, retail and trade marketing activities to deliver a clear and consistent message to consumers, the trade, and adidas staff in the region
• Implement control systems to guarantee high level of integrity
• Implement and maintain reporting processes for category team
People Management (if applicable):
1. Define specific targets and review with each direct report in line with aChina guidelines
2. Plan include goals, key job responsibilities, competency development, measures and follow-up activities
3. Provide supervision, coaching and feedback to subordinates, insisting on integrity and openness
4. Manage, develop and motivate team in alignment with the adidas China organization
5. Pay attention to team member performance improvement
Training
1. To some extent, actively participate in departmental level trainings and development initiatives and activities
2. Through the internal communications team, communicate category marketing information and initiatives to entire company in a timely fashion

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
10. Functional – Over 5 years of proven marketing experience with 2 years at senior level with major FMCG, sports or Retail companies
11. Industry – Ideally in apparel/fashion/shoes or FMCG
12. Exposure – Sports, brand/category marketing, trade marketing
13. Relevant China marketing experience, preferred
14. Bachelor's Degree in business related discipline is required
