Purpose and Scope:
Manage all aspects of global mobility, including, but not limited to - vendor management, deployment and assessment of mobility and tax policies and compliance, processes, compensation packages, tax compliance, immigration, and communications with employees, HR generalists, vendors, etc. The mobility function has accountability for enabling mobility in support of the Company’s business worldwide, including developing cost effective, compliant and practical mobility solutions linked to the talent strategy and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Management:
• Manage maintenance and administration of global mobility and immigration programs by reviewing internal and external processes to ensure efficiency and fluidity
• Manage and oversee end to end process for expatriate assignments and international transfers including but not limited to: calculating expatriate packages, partnering with tax provider to calculate cost estimates, managing the relocation process with the vendor, overseeing the coordination of payroll instructions, allowance reviews, communication with employees on tax equalization settlements etc.
• Govern tax compliance by ensuring the Company is reporting benefits in kind accurately and timely
• Govern immigration compliance by ensuring employees have necessary authority to live/work in new location
• Assess effectiveness of policies; enhance and implement global mobility policies, taking into account market trends and business needs
• Manage escalations for any issues and/or concerns raised by managers and assignees on policies
• Manage all vendors (relocation, tax, immigration, Mercer etc.) to ensure adherence to standards and policies
• Oversee fiscal year end and tax year end processes by partnering with external tax provider and internal teams
• Oversees the development of communications and tools to ensure effective HR and business understanding of the Company’s mobility approach and policies
• Manage Global Mobility team
Collaboration:
• Partner with Global HR partners, and Compensation and Benefits teams
• Partner with Legal, Tax, Payroll, Finance when necessary
• Create and update internal reports
• Strategically partner with vendors and Global Mobility community to enhance programs/policies, while helping to contain costs
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
• BA / BS Degree in related field
• At least 5 years of experience with expatriate administration and demonstrated understanding of expatriate package components
• Experience managing vendors and contracts, SLA’s and negotiations
• Must be able to develop written presentations and policies and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Ability to influence and affect change in a professional manner
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written) with customer focus, proven relationship management skills, and the ability to influence and work with managers and assignees at all levels.,
• Sense of urgency, detail oriented and aptitude to follow through
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in order to meet to meet tight deadlines
• Strong team player, adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work across cultures and regions
• Ability to operate and influence in a highly matrixed and flexible environment
• Excellent organization, planning and decision making skills; ability to balance the needs of the business and the assignees, while meeting the requirements of the laws and regulations of both home and host countries
• Global awareness and general understanding as it relates to immigration and tax compliance
