Description
Sr. Java Application Engineer – Consumer Digital Technology – NIKE, Inc., Beaverton, OR. Support consumer connectivity, customization, and commerce efforts in Beaverton, OR.
Will collaborate with team members to shape the foundation of data engineering across online applications, systems, and analytics environments.
Will design, develop, maintain, and support Java application and data integration solutions for all consumer digital technology capabilities. Will establish and maintain processes to support and grow integration practices, and will drive the creation of best practices, design patterns, and reference implementations for integration services.
Will collaborate with the Quality Assurance team in testing plans and will participate in integration design and development reviews.
Will develop action plans and processes to integrate activities and optimize department resources to meet key business goals and objectives.
Will facilitate and perform application support and issue resolution with internal and external resources.
Will contribute to and review recommendations for technical solutions and will manage and contribute to the technical components of the request for proposal process.
Will determine options for issue resolution and risk mitigation.
Will define and communicate requirements of the technical environments and will determine the technical scope for projects providing estimates and project budget input to the Senior / Project Manager.
Will ensure that the code and configuration requirements and deliverables are met.
Will enforce architecture, governance, security, and global process standards to system changes and deployments throughout the department.
Will coordinate compliance issue identification and remediation.
Will approve proof-of-concept efforts and review results, and will enforce the Consumer Digital Technology architectural direction to ensure that a consistent technical approach is utilized.
Will set the application of engineering tools based on recommendations from external constituents, and will allocate resources based on performance monitoring and tuning results.
Will manage and enforce performance thresholds and standards and will review and approve performance test results, recommendations, and tuning results.
Will oversee the creation of test plans, test execution, and validation of test results.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer applications, or computer engineering Experience: 5 years of overall progressive experience in software design and development using JavaSkills/Requirements: 1 year experience
(1) build, test, and deploy AWS cloud applications using AWS and Neflix libraries;
(2) build AWS lambdas using Node.js;
(3) using digital communications to effectively communicate with consumers through a variety of channels, including push notifications, SMS messaging, and email;
(4) canary deployment methodologies for web applications;
(5) technical and operational support for web applications;
(6) design, implement and maintain web applications;
(7) guide, coach, and mentor team members to fulfill their tasks, and
