Director, DTC Supply Chain Operations

General Position Summary
The position is accountable for developing and executing Columbia Sportswear Company’s direct-to-consumer supply chain roadmap and the specific strategies, business processes and teams that will yield best in class Direct to Consumer (DTC) capability. This role will emphasize fulfilment, speed and agility in direct support ofthe omni-channel strategic imperative and expected growth in DTC sales. This leader will develop and deliver a DTC vision and operating model that defines the future aspiration, initiatives/tactics, investments, and organization required to fundamentally transform current capabilities.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Develop, lead and strategically influence a DTC supply chain operations program that delivers on the forward-thinking strategies
• Build powerful strategic alliances and collaborate across departments and divisions.
• Provide thought leadership and facilitate cross-functional problem solving with impacted operational domains (stores, merchants, distribution, logistics, DTC, service delivery, etc.)
• Consistently execute on daily fulfillment objectives across e-commerce and brick and mortar channels
• Introduce advanced supply chain, continuous improvement and distribution/logistics tools/methodologies/systems to help the business deliver results in customer fulfillment, quality, cost, inventory management
• Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact for cross-functional partners acting as a project manager to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement, and test DTC fulfillment initiatives
• Design future state end-to-end processes, operating model, and capabilities required to delivery industry leading DTC fulfillmentcapability; pilot, test and refine “Future State Solutions” prior to rolling out at scale
• Identify, prioritize and translate critical supply chain enablers to support the new DTC fulfillment model
• Develop risk mitigation strategy to avoid operational disruption and eliminate business risk as DTC fulfillment strategy and operating model evolves
• Develop the business cases for supply chain investments
• Spearhead overarching communications and engagement plan related to supply chain transformation
• Drive continuous improvements in DTC fulfillment cost as a percentage of sales
Specific Job Skills
• A track record in transforming DTC fulfillment operations in a large scale national or global multi-category retailer preferred
• Exceptional leadership, senior managerial and analytical skills and the ability to analyze data and make recommendations and investment cases at the highest levels of an organization
• Proven business acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities, to set, manage and report against large, multi-year budgets, KPIs, milestones, etc.
• Ability to inspire and communicate with a wide range of constituents including non-supply chain stakeholders
• Experience in multi-channel, matrixed environment
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Experience
• A minimum of 8 years of management experience, with DTC supply chain emphasis
