UNIQLO is looking for candidates interested in business and customer satisfaction to join our team this summer to provide creative ideas to help achieve our goal of becoming the number one retailer in the world! The summer internship program is designed to give current students a challenging, hands-on experience in the retail industry.
Depending on your interests and educational background we have opportunities in different departments such as marketing, e-commerce and retail stores. No matter which department you choose you will have an opportunity to work with team leaders and gain exposure and understanding of our organization. You will be tasked with providing tangible suggestions or action plans. By the end of the program you will be expected to present your ideas to our key business leaders.
Length of program: 6 – 8 weeks
Part-time, 20-25 hours per week
JOB TITLE: Summer Internship – E-commerce, Business Analyst
Position Overview:
This position works closely with the Data & Analytics Manager. You will be the analytics guru that is able to put together use web metrics as well as physical stores and market data to forecast demand. You must be able to translate data analysis into usable information. By the end of the program you will be expected to give suggestions on which initiatives to prioritize as well as give business recommendations in a formal presentation.
Responsibilities
• Build extensive models with an understanding of effective reporting/dashboard design and standards. Be able to translate data analysis into business recommendations and be able to clearly articulate and present findings.
• Aid in the planning process by developing models to forecast traffic, conversion, demand, etc.
• Collaborate with members of the E-Commerce team to provide analytic support to measure performance of efforts. Guide end-users in identifying key performance indicators for their areas and then build appropriate reporting that provides insight into the performance of initiatives and approaches within each area.
• Lead and facilitate the creation of recommendations or opportunities based on metrics and trends reports
• Generate ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users, using system tools and database, analytics platform, etc.
• Will own specific areas of analyses and parts of larger projects. Be able to clearly define objectives and action work plans anticipating project goals and future needs
Qualifications:
• Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Passionate about customer-service, retail industry – online and in-store
• Results oriented and able to work in a faced-paced environment
• Strong basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical, research and problem solving abilities
• Be a highly motivated self-starter. Must be comfortable working independently to achieve successful results with minimal guidance.
• Detail oriented and results driven
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), and the ability to effectively discuss results with technical and business partners at the appropriate level of technical detail.
• Studying in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar) and a love for numbers, analyses and Excel!
• Experience in working with databases and database query language (SQL)
• Knowledge of R and SAS a plus. Experience with machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis techniques in a business environment also a plus
