Executive Director, Global Market Development, ADF
Overview
Oversee six Regions, NA, EMEA, LATAM, UK, APAC, and Travel Retail Channel and grow the ADF brand portfolio thus building one voice to develop best practices to be shared across the globe. Partner with Licensors and Regions on facilitating a flawless commercial execution at all touch points. Drive the collaboration with Global Marketing, Global Consumer Engagement, Education, Creative, Finance and the Licensors to achieve alignment on the core fiscal business strategies and the ADF building blocks. Foster agreement on all brands launch execution, pricing and distribution strategy. Maximize opportunities to increase sales, profit and market share for assigned brands. Establish and implement brand priorities by Region and implement innovative strategies to drive change and deliver results. Create synergies across Regions/TR/Cross functional teams to leverage and optimize assets and execution of programs locally. Responsible to communicate all needs of both the Regions and Licensors to appropriate parties.
Channel optimization is key in building a strategic brand portfolio; particularly the fastest growing, most profitable channels ie Retailer.com, Specialty Multi and Travel Retail. This role is responsible to ensure global calendars meet the long term plan of the Regions and achieve net sales evolution, MOB penetration and product forecasting. Work with Licensors to drive and execute new business opportunities in their boutiques, Outlets and Digital. Seasonal Licensor program reviews with fashion to determine appropriate assortment/mix. Responsible to communicate and enforce all contractual obligations in Advertising and Promotion as well as sampling, testers, visual merchandising and overall investment strategy.
Spearhead and lead the commercial expansion of the on line/ecommerce distribution footprint across the globe, focusing on emerging markets (n11 – Turkey, Jumia – South Africa, Myntra – India and Ozon.ru – Russia). Analyze and present new opportunities within the fragrance retailer/perfumery channel (ie. Reload/Channel 2-5). Strategically collaborate with Regionals to establish market specific program requests thus allowing the division to capitalize on locally relevant opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:
• Identify key opportunities/challenges within current and future business models.
• Work in partnership with the Regions to accelerate brand growth across many platforms such as net extra opportunities, distribution rollout, channel play.
• Review Fall and Spring brand forecasts by market to determine appropriate quantities have been captured to achieve financial goals. Analyze and review forecasts prior to close date.
• New door approval process – supply licensor with overall new door strategy that includes information such as net sales opportunity, # of doors, competitor adjacencies, images of retail environment and overall goals/measurements for the new accounts.
• Evaluate and build pricing initiatives across the globe in partnership with the Corporate pricing team and Regions to ensure suggested retail pricing and net are aligned and all opportunities are recognized and implemented.
• Working closely with licensor and digital team on global commercial expansion of E-Comm.
• Drive agenda, presentation preparation for all licensor business meetings.
• Financial reporting, weekly, monthly, NPD documentation.
• Evaluate and approve Regional launch proposals. Present to SVP/GM and Licensors.
• Identify and implement a successful boutique, digital and outlet retail strategy.
• Responsible to present Fall/Spring programs to Licensor, collect forecasts, monitor boutique, outlet and ecomm business. Take appropriate action when necessary (returns, discounts, assortment).
• Monitor and provide licensor wholesale pricing seasonally to ensure accurate invoicing.
• Participate in SIOP meetings by Region/Global and strategize opportunities for improvement.
• Work closely with Global Marketing on sku discontinuations and communicate to the Regions.
• Licensor’s main point of contact on all Regional/Market topics (support, state of the business).
• Conduct weekly/monthly Regional touch base by brand as well as participate in estimate calls.
• Review the Global Marketing Website data/information with Regions prior to post date. Continue updated dialogue throughout the 4-6 week process.
• Monitor channel optimization, Channel 2-5 to facilitate global practices/guidelines are withheld.
• Communicate and enforce contractual obligations.
• Manage day to day correspondence with Regions, Licensors and internal organization.
• Weekly status updates with Licensors.
• Responsible for strategy prep, RRT set-up/presentation, Summit.
• Other relevant assignments and research as directed by SVP/GM.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate College degree; MBA preferred but not required
• Position requires minimum 10+ years relevant work experience in beauty industry marketing
• Knowledge of Global Marketing principles and socio-cultural climates essential
• Knowledge of global market/consumer trends
• Strong leadership, project management and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications; strong presentation skills, ability to personally organize and set priorities and to motivate teams
• Some travel required (2-4 trips per year)
