Senior Marketing Manager, Savane
Perry Ellis International is looking for a resourceful and sales-oriented Senior Marketing Manager to work in the Corporate Headquarter office located in Miami, Fl. This person will oversee the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for Savane, a mens’ pants brand offering comfort, performance, and craftsmanship. The goal of the Sr. Marketing Manager is to create marketing strategies that increase consumer awareness, generate demand, drive retail sales and make the brand stronger. This person interacts with internal colleagues across Sales, Design, Merchandising, Creative, Finance, as well as external partners including retailers, media partners, influencers, and press. A successful Sr. Marketing Manager will have relevant marketing experience, an exceptional portfolio of past work, and demonstrate his/her connection to contributing to profitable sales growth. The Savane Sr. Marketing Manager reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and works as a close partner to the Savane business unit leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Drive the articulation of what the brand stands for (distinctive positioning, key attributes, brand personality).
• Lead the definition of the target consumer audience (demographic as well as behavioral attributes).
• Provide direction on all marketing/messaging needs to guide development of seasonal campaigns, collateral, product marketing, content creation, advertising, and brand guidelines
• Build annual plans to manage marketing budgets and determine the appropriate allocation of funds to strengthen brand, drive awareness, and generate demand.
• Challenge the status quo to bring new, out of the box initiatives forward to stand out in the crowded brand landscape.
• Maximize the mix of marketing levers (content, advertising, social media, partnerships, instore visual merchandising, PR, events, influencer marketing, etc…) in building brand awareness and demand, bringing a digital-first/mobile-first perspective.
• Develop seasonal master brand calendar that considers all key messages the brand and product will stand for, aligning across all communications and consumer touchpoints.
• Prepare all briefing materials to guide Creative development for the brand and all communications.
• Partner with media agency on developing and implementing effective media plans.
• Work closely with stakeholders across wholesale (brick and mortar as well as ecomm) and direct sales channels to develop strategies and initiatives to drive sales.
• Partner with Design, Merchandising, Sales, and Creative teams to develop product marketing collateral (trims, hangtags, POP signage, etc.) that re-enforces strong brand identity and impactfully calls out key product features.
• Create strategies for acquiring new customers as well as building loyalty from current ones. Play an active role in managing consumer database and driving outbound communications.
• Support Sales team efforts via tradeshows, showrooms, presentation materials, and more.
• Acquire and socialize consumer insights that enable the brand to understand target customers, develop the right product, communicate relevant brand attributes, maximize messaging, understand media habits, and more.
• Develop/obtain and utilize data to measure the effectiveness of the marketing strategies being implemented. Test new concepts and adapt based on learnings.
• Create an inspired culture within the team through training, idea sharing, people development, and learning opportunities.
• Train all supporting business units on each brand’s DNA to help each communication touch point reinforce the brands’ positioning.
• Support Licensing needs for brand material.
• Liaison with any external agencies to build a strong brand and drive demand.
• Monitor and share compelling messaging and communication tactics both within and beyond our industry to ensure we are current with the rapidly evolving Marketing landscape.
• Lead their direct report(s) to think creatively and resourcefully to accelerate the brand’s growth.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:
• Proven experience in brand marketing roles (fashion experience a plus).
• Strong leadership/management skills across peers, direct reports, senior management, and other team members.
• Sales-oriented mindset
• Highly collaborative and flexible.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to sell in ideas and gain support for initiatives.
• Ability to operate quickly and calmly within a dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to translate strategic goals into results driven initiatives.
• Specific experience building strong brands.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum 5 years of brand management/marketing experience.
• Experience managing teams (directly and/or laterally).
