Vice President, Global Corporate Store Planning & Development
Description
The Global Retail Channel team is an integral part of ELC’s global growth strategy for retail. The responsibility of the Global Store Planning and Construction role is to provide global guidance and best practices on store planning and construction project management to Regional Design Center teams and support cross functional/cross regions leadership initiatives to ensure progresses and alignment in processes and reporting.
Key to the Role, will be the direct responsibility of the Store Planning and construction Team dedicated to North America (US/Canada). It will give the chosen candidate the opportunity to lead a team of professionals and maintain a best in class process for deploying in NA retail environments for the most exciting brands in the cosmetics industry.
As Head of Store Planning & Construction you will understand each brand’s planning DNA in order to successfully own and lead store development and construction initiatives. You will manage an internal team of planning and construction professionals and will manage a curated group of external consultants to support the store development process.
We seek a talented store development leader and creative problem solver with a strong design skill set and construction experience in the retail setting, both in street and mall las well as in partner locations.
The preferred candidate will have experience managing teams and external architecture and construction related consultants, to deliver completed store in a fast paced and demanding environment. The ability to artfully balance a busy workload and the demands of “internal client” brand executive teams will be paramount. In addition, primary objectives will be the on-time, under budget delivery of well executed retail stores/counters and renovations projects meeting all brand requirements.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience performing project management job functions for construction projects (10+ years)
• Management of a retail construction team with 40 or more current projects or units (10+ years)
• Experience in a role bidding and negotiating for construction projects (10+ years)
• Creation and management of construction documents (5-7 years)
• Conducting financial analysis, budgeting and planning for construction projects (10+ years)
• Managing construction permits and approvals for the development process
• Managing 30+ construction support staff members, partnering with designers, architects or real estate professionals (7+ years)
• Experience using MS Outlook, MS Excel, and project or construction management program(s), such as MS Project (3+ year)
• CAD drafting, AUTOCAD and similar software (5-7 years)
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft of Microsoft Office suite
