Senior Manager Sports Marketing - BU Running
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
• This role plays an instrumental part in the way the brand is portrayed at Key cities in association with Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions and the global Sports market and ensures on a day to day basis that we continue to raise the awareness and image of adidas as the number one Global Sports Brand.

Furthermore, the increased commercial sophistication and demands of today’s market, necessitates a keen commercial based skill and mindset in order maximize potential and achieve success for the association.
Key Responsibilities:
• To optimize and leverage the relationship between adidas and Key City Portifolio (Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions), and furthermore to set and implement the mutually agreed local & global community strategy, driving return on investment and delivering towards the brands position as the Global Number 1 in Sports.
◦ Creation and implementation of a mutually agreed strategic asset plan for key cities and support the creation for main cities that forms the guiding principle for how the adidas brand manages, leverages and commercializes the association, ultimately delivering against agreed KPI’s (qualitative and quantitative)
◦ Drive and coordinate the adidas marketing process on a local and global level towards optimizing the activation of the association.
◦ Lead and manage key relationships at Key Cities with Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions and associated network.
◦ Strict remit to spend considerable time at both adidas HQ and Key cities in order to steer processes effectively.
• Be the Global and Local dedicated adidas contact, and main focal relationship manager for the Key cities to Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions.
• Responsible for the effective application / implementation of contractual rights granted by the Key cities to Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions.
• Develop a mid / long term strategic business plan for the Key cities to Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions and the adidas association that provides all business functions / adidas network with tangible set direction from which to activate and commercialize the association on a local & global level.
• Drive, steer and implement seasonal global and local marketing plans for the asset which deliver towards the overall strategic plan in partnership with key business functions/ Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instutution.
Including:
• Contribute to Commercial / Product Marketing Strategy for all the Key cities to Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/Instututions.
• Drive the Brand Marketing strategy in close cooperation with Local & Global Comms
• Lead the local and global activation strategy
• Drive, challenge and develop the asset business against predefined global / local Net Sales targets, as assigned within the Strategic Marketing plan.
• Quarterly reporting to Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/Capitains/Coaches/ Instututions of business financials. Including regional / market specific analysis. Furthermore to identify business opportunities on market, regional and global basis.
• Constant tracking and analysis of the adidas Authenticators/City runners/Crews/Partners/ Capitains/ Coaches/ Instututions, working with key business functions on contingency plans as required.
• Closely monitor and review industry dynamics and be sufficiently fluid and perceptive to adapt plans and shape strategies accordingly.
• Management of the entire Authenticators/ City runners/Crews/Partners/ Capitains/ Coaches/ Instututions approval process across all brand / business functions (Product, Brand marketing etc).
• Develop relationships with ‘other’ key Authenticators/City runners/ Crews/ Partners/ Capitains/ Coaches/ Instututions and pursue relevant business / marketing opportunities aligned to the overall strategic plan
• Ensure optimum servicing of Authenticators/ City runners/ Crews/ Partners/ Capitains/ Coaches/ Instututions by the adidas brand, fulfillment and optimization of all adidas’ contractual obligations. Oversee and ensure that all product requirements are met in full and on time
• Implement and track product endorsement strategies, ensuring the relevant products / technologies are endorsed at all times.
• Effectively manage and implement budgets.
KPI’s:
• Net Sales/Profitability of Key Cities.
• NPS Key cities.
• Marketing Budget Application (ROI)
• Realization of contractual rights
Key Relationships:
• All key contacts at Authenticators/ City runners/ Crews/ Partners/ Capitains/ Coaches/ Instututions
• adidas markets across multi disciplines
• All support disciplines within adidas Global HQ
• Global adidas network, specifically those key core markets centric to the defined Key cities portifolio strategic plan
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The individual must be senior in profile, highly motivated and focused. He / She must be extremely well organized with a strong empathy and passion towards running. Strong Communicationl/PR brackground would be appreciated. Additionally the individual must possess / be:
• Resolute and a good problem solver
• Strong project management skills
• Strong Sports Marketing, PR &Communication skills
• Strong market, industry and commercial awareness
• Good negotiation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English
• Driven to succeed and deliver against expectations
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• University degree in business / marketing
• Minimum 5-6 years experience working in Marketing, preferably with some experience in Sales and/or Account Management, and dealing effectively with 3rd Parties
