Senior Marketing Manager, Trade Books
Rodale Trade Books is seeking an innovative, creative thinker to join its rapidly evolving marketing team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is able to juggle quickly-shifting priorities, and eager to jump in where needed. The Trade Books Senior Marketing Manager will help to conceive, develop, and execute multi-channel marketing programs for their assigned products. They must be a highly organized team player with strong attention to detail and an excellent communicator in both individual and group settings, as well as within and outside of the company.
Responsibilities include:
• As part of the marketing team, develop and implement innovative online and offline marketing and promotional plans for 65+ titles per year
• Work with Director of Marketing and senior management to develop marketing plans and manage products throughout life cycle from conception, to launch and post launch
• Track budget/spending for assigned products
• Act as main point of contact for author needs related to products: provide regular contact on campaign status, provide needed assets, troubleshoot issues and keep internal teams up to date on status
• Collaborate and communicate with publicity, editorial, and authors on development and execution of marketing campaigns; communicate plans and creative direction with editors and authors
• Work closely with RodaleWellness.com team to plan and implement promotion around assigned products including emails, newsletters, display ads and social media promotion
• Spearhead social media efforts via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest to help authors grow their audience, create community-building and event campaigns, create paid social ads to drive awareness and preorders. Oversee Rodalebooks.com.
• Write ad and newsletter copy; coordinate ad design with creative team; route ads and secure approvals from authors, etc., as needed
• Coordinate Rodale Books presence at select events sponsored by Rodale brands, attend as needed
• Oversee creation of sales materials including floor and counter displays and sell sheets
• Attend weekly staff and marketing meetings
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of book publishing experience, must have the ability manage campaigns independently. Health and wellness category experience is preferred.
• Hands on experience in managing social media campaigns, paid social media marketing is a plus
• College Degree BA/BS in relevant field preferred
• Experience managing a product across all phases of its lifecycle, from conception through launch and post-launch
• Proven track record of successfully managing author relationships and collaborating with teams across a publishing organization
