Description
As our Director, Automation Tools your role will include leadership and oversight of an enterprise wide effort to design a reusable technology automation capability and standards to drive operational efficiency and agility across the technical environment, as well as consulting with stakeholders on how to best leverage automation capabilities and standards. You will have the opportunity to build a Center of Excellence – establishing roadmaps, defining services, communication, value, growth, training, planning. • Drive business and Technology alignment to leverage reusable automation capabilities
• Collaborate with Technology management to define and develop automation strategy, standards, roadmaps, and practices
• Act as a technical expert addressing problems relating to automation integration, compatibility, and platform integration
• Interact and consult with appropriate business partners to understand application/business process automation requirements and define solutions to meet those requirements
• Ensure automation methodologies follow the prescribed development life cycle and meet quality standards
• Serve as point of escalation, review, and approval for key issues/decisions for automation initiatives
• Analyze and recommend automation technology and alternative solutions, methodologies, strategies, and tools to fill gaps
• Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the industry and make appropriate tool recommendations
• Identify and communicate risks associated with component or application implementation
• Provide superior support and guidance to the various Technology teams during the analysis, development, and testing processes
Qualifications
• BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or related field; equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of a degree
• 12 years experience with system installation, configuration, and operations
• 8 years of software or DB development
• 6 years of DB schema design or XL message design and web service design
• 4 years of building and testing automation tools
• Must be detail-oriented and highly motivated
• Able to adapt to an agile and fast-paced environment
• Experience building and implementing model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions
• Knowledge of all phases of software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Ability to compose detailed documents for technical standards, solution templates, and procedures/troubleshooting documents; define and summarize technical dependencies
• Professional communication skills with the ability to speak contemporaneously about technical and business strategies with senior leadership team
• Strong understanding of the information technology landscape - stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends
