Global Trade Marketing Merchandising Manager - Wella/OPI
A division of COTY Professional Beauty (Presently Woodland Hills, CA / Relocating to Calabasas, CA Sept 2017)
Job Summary:
As part of the global Trade Marketing team, you will be part of Global store team the and will be responsible to identify and develop the best merchandising solutions for both the Store and the End salon channels. The job is an end to end role starting from the early design phase of merchandising tools for initiatives or base business programs where you will need to contribute via identifying solutions to improve our brands visibility and awareness and continuing with the development of these tools in strict collaboration with key internal and external partners and taking into account key FFU requirements by channels. Part of the job will also be about envisioning the WELLA/OPI ideal salon and collaborating, as key member of the Global store team, to envision the perfect world for our categories in store. You will have to collaborate with multiple functions from the design teams (Marketing, Trade Marketing, R&D, Education, PS, Finance) to commercial teams (Affiliates, Global Distributors, Global store team, Studio teams ) passing through the coordination of some external agencies (merchandising agencies). This position will report to Global Store Trade marketing Vice President.
Essential Functions:
• Envision the ideal and distinctive Salon for both WELLA and OPI
• Contribute to design the “perfect world” for COTY professional brands in the Store channel .
• Identify winning merchandising solutions for both initiatives and base business programs in both the salon and the Store channel
• Develop final FFU merchandising solution in strict collaboration with merchandising agencies and key internal stakeholder)
• Coordinate the merchandising agencies and be the SPOC for them on merchandising tools.
• Contribute to make the Studios the best possible expression of WELLA and OPI salons (Our Flagships)
• Lead the development of a Merchandising materials menu including disruptive innovative elements for the different Channels
• Be the voice of customers and market key point of contact from design stage to in market exploitation stages
• Deployment of your plans to Affiliates and distributor markets incl. conferences
• Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Interconnected Functions
The Trade Marketing function is linked to almost all functions within the organization. Below you can find the key points of contact:
• Global Trade Marketing: Stores COE Geneva leveraging and contribute to building Capability
• Affiliates /Distributors: Trade Marketing counterparts in the market driving and coordinating brand plans
• Marketing: Base Business and AMP development incl. toolboxes and deployments
• Education: Stylist education activities linked to the business priorities and Studios planning
• PS: Product Supply support from initiative development, ATW creation to shipment in Market
• F&A: Financial support on initiative development and franchise growth & profitability glide path
RequiredQualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing or similar discipline).
• 5+ year’s prior experience in Sales, Trade Marketing Category Management, Retail Management or working with Suppliers and Customers
• Commercial or relevant Trade Marketing background.
• Technical mastery on Merchandising (including design), Category management and external agencies management
• Strong analytical skills and Entrepreneurial mindset.
• Occasional travel up to 15%.
• Excellent people management, organization and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and writing skills (Fluent in English).
• Must be detailed-oriented as well as deadline-oriented.
• Capable of handling multiple projects and demands.
• Computer mastery with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint....) and design programs.
• Strong collaboration with diverse partners (including external agencies)
• Entrepreneurial mindset
• Adaptive in a changing work and duty environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree (Marketing, Business or related discipline)
• Professional beauty industry experience
Work Environment:
• Exposure to standard chemicals used in an office environment is expected and includes but is not limited to toner, glue and liquid paper, etc. Additionally, the incumbent may be exposed to chemicals used in maintenance, cleaning and lubrication and/or in the manufacturing process of nail lacquers, lotions, etc.
