Overview
Execute production strategy in partnership with sourcing channels, Design, and Merchandising.
Responsibilities
• Manage pre-production approval process
• Monitor and ensure on-time delivery by troubleshooting issues with staff, sourcing channels, and logistics
• Manage costing process to achieve IMU goal
• Analyze the sample placement strategy
• Develop the costing strategy for a department and troubleshoot plan with team
• Review costing strategy with Merchants and confirm order placement with sourcing channels
• Create teams and partnerships across functions
• Lead and manage a Production team for a department
• Review margin reports regularly and ensure that IMU meets commodity and department goals
• Responsible for staff hiring, training and employee development
• Seasonal evaluation of vendor/factory performance
• Management of expenses within a prescribed limits
• Keep abreast of market changes, trends, quota, factory and new opportunities
• Ensure all timelines are met – from sample development through production to shipping
• Alert management and business associates on high-risk areas, which may impact on production
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors
Skills and Requirements
• At least 5+years experience in a production environment with a minimum of four years managerial
• Computer proficiency in MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word
• Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
• Excellent English communication skills - verbal and written
• Excellent time management/project skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
• Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands
• Comfortable and confident in making effective autonomous (and group) decisions in a timely manner
• Goal oriented: ability to stay focused on creating winning results
• Knowledge of production: trade regulations, testing protocol, production integrity, production cycle times, fabric and garment construction
• Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
• Ability to demonstrate proactive problems solving skills
• Ability to influence others through strong negotiating skills
• Ability to monitor employee performance, to provide feedback, and to develop employees through formal and on-the-job training
• Ability to create and maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals
• Ability to travel overseas on a quarterly basis
