Primary Purpose: The Merchandising Manager will be responsible for determining the seasonal assortments for Men’s Footwear and Ready-to-Wear. The Manager will play a key role in partnering with Design & the Business Units to develop and implement strategies to maximize sales growth and profitability, while aligning to the brand vision. The Manager is responsible for driving these decisions and strategies to ensure achievement of sales plans/forecast. Reports to Sr. Director, Merchandising.

• Partner with Design through the entire process: concept through commercialization. Participate in all Product Team Meetings and Design Review Meetings. Facilitate the process by acting as communication liaison between Product Development & Merchandising regarding design changes, margin challenges and retail price adjustments.
• Ensure adherence to the product development timeline, including the ongoing review and edit of the line to stay on track with the strategic priorities.
• Manage the line planning and development process with a strong understanding of business (channel) needs and the global market. Must be able to project prices, target margins and costs as appropriate.
• Analyze all weekly, monthly, quarterly standard reports including weekly selling, monthly sales, and margin trend recaps. Present the information and conclusions drawn in weekly business review meetings that include Senior Management.
• Act a key product liaison to all facets of the business including Design, Planning, Production and Product Development.
• Ensure target margins are set and met with cross-functional teams.
• Partner with Business Unit Buying teams to draw conclusions on sales performance and identify similar trends across the business. Leverage these conclusions to impact future assortments.
• Partner with Global Inventory Management and Planning on all forecast changes, changes to merchandise assortment, colors, and retail and margin changes, ensuring clear communication to senior management on pertinent issues.
• Maintain a keen eye for trends across competitors, markets and consumer segments and use that knowledge to identify opportunities for growth and brand development in today’s global marketplace. Compile competitive shopping analysis and present relevant conclusions.
• Have a holistic approach to developing and commercializing the collection with all related business partners including but not limited to VM, Marketing and Customer Experience teams.

An outstanding professional will have...
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a Merchandising/Buying capacity with focus on Ready-to-Wear. Experience in Men’s, preferred. Experience in Footwear a plus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the product development and production processes, including exposure to the technical aspects of construction and fit.
• Strong analytical skills and comprehensive understanding of "retail math".
