POSITION SUMMARY
Direct the implementation of the capital construction programs for Sephora North America. Projects include new stores, major/minor remodels, program & fixture rollouts and will be based on the East Coast, final location TBD. Overall responsibilities encompass execution of all activities from project inception through completion and compliance with all standards and best practices. You must be a strong leader, a self-starter and have the wherewithal to lead projects with minimal supervision. You must be adaptable to change and have the capacity for a sizable workload. You will be expected to consistently champion new initiatives that drive costs lower and save time. You will also need a strong sense of urgency and work well under pressure in a collaborative team environment. This position will work very closely with other departments, including but not limited to Real Estate, Store Design, Retail Facilities, Procurement, Merchandising, Education, Marketing and Retail Operations – both at corporate office and in the field. At its core, this role is focused on project & program management while leading and driving teams to develop best in class execution along with a tremendous focus on continuous process improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the execution of new store and remodel projects to ensure on time completion, at the highest quality level and lowest possible cost.
• Actively manage the project delivery process and ensure all project development activities are performed in a timely and professional manner.
• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers, both internal and external, to insure that all projects are constructed in accordance with the approved scope and budget and conform to all regulations, corporate policies, procedures and best practice standards.
• Support the capital approval process including budget (estimating) and scope development and preparation of phasing plans and project schedules.
• Oversee the construction bidding and administration processes in compliance with Sephora & LVMH policies and procedures.
• Responsible for the maintenance of ongoing budget tracking reports and monthly project forecasts.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Architecture, Construction, Business Management or equivalent education or experience.
• Requires minimum 7 - 10 years of working experience within a real estate, construction or facilities environment ideally with in depth knowledge of the retail industry and policies and procedures typical to such fields.
• Retailer experience preferred.
• Expert skills in project and workflow management.
• Significant experience working in a cross-functional organization with ability to drive consensus and achieve business goals.
• Comfortable working in a highly ambiguous and dynamic cross functional environment.
• Ability to work independently and managing multiple priorities with high degree of accuracy.
