Assistant Technical Designer, Adaptive - Tommy Hilfiger
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with Tech Design VP, Tech Designers, Production, and Trim teams to achieve corporate standards in both fit and construction
• Update design sketches from Main Line styles for Runway of Dreams
• Enter initial specs into ISIS system for Runway of Dreams
• Advise overseas and domestic offices of any construction changes from Main Line to Runway of Dreams through comments, and detail sketches
• Analyze fit and construction on a live model or a form
• Responsible for troubleshooting production issues with overseas offices and factories
• Track samples for timely delivery
• Measure samples and prepare paperwork as needed
• Review submitted samples to check for accuracy
• Review graded specs for accuracy
• Request TOP samples
• Measure TOP samples, when necessary review production samples for specs and quality
• Maintain corporate calendar deadlines for garment approvals
• Interacts with Production, Product Development, Design and Merchandising
• Daily responsibilities including timeliness, accuracy and tracking have an impact on the overall budgetary goals of the company
• Immediate pressure to meet deadlines and deliver goods on scheduled dates. Significant part of the day is spent working on projects on the PC, including answering e-mails, Excel, updating files, etc.
Qualifications:
• College degree, preferred. Pattern making degree or comparable industry experience. Major in Fashion Design or Technical Design, a plus
• 2+ year experience in the apparel industry, including patternmaking and construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods
• Knowledge of sewing and construction a must.
• Strong follow-through skills
• Detail-oriented, attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage time
• Flexibility to respond to changing business priorities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• PC Skills- MS Office (Excel), MS Outlook, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Team player, multi-tasker and motivated to take initiatives
