Major Responsibilities
Reporting to the Design Director, the Junior Designer will split their time between design and design coordination, working with the Design Team in all cross-banner initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of many creative aspects of today’s retail environment as well as the business management design needs within an internal corporate creative setting.
Role responsibilities include:
• Support HBC C.O.E. Design Team in all cross-banner initiatives
• Roll out visual systems based on approved creative
• Visual systems for special events, private label, seasonal and store campaigns. Includes invitations, postcards, shopping bags, packaging, logo identity, newspaper and catalogue
• HR Corporate collateral, style guide, assets, multi-media and supporting documents
• Logo development, style guides and special projects
• Maintenance of banner asset libraries and box system
• Management and coordination with production the distribution of creative assets
• Understanding of IOD standards and process for PR and events
• Partnering with visual for new branding support and hording
• Private label branding programs and woven label initiatives and library
• SAKSFIRST loyalty and credit programs for US and CA markets
• Holiday, monthly theme and seasonal marketing campaign cadence
• Periodic status reports and job summaries
• Account management for creative requests submitted outside of the marketing requests
• Developing creative processes to support cross banner workflow
• Digital touch bases
Personal Characteristics
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of success in creative brainstorming and problem solving in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment. He/she should also possess the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Production, HR, Store Visual, Merchants, etc.
Qualifications
Professional Qualifications
• 2-4 years’ experience in retail, luxury/fashion, project management or print production
• Agency background is a plus
• Full knowledge of Adobe CS6 applications & Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel
• Excellent organization skills with great attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
