Purpose:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for bringing our Global brand strategy to life in the Canadian marketplace, activating our fitness positioning through relevant and impactful brand communications. A driven brand marketer, the successful candidate will bring expertise in digital and traditional media, sponsorship and experiential, PR and retail activation to the role. Their vision for how to entrench Reebok as Canada’s Leading Fitness Brand will inspire their team, business colleagues and external partners alike.
Key Accountabilities:
Brand Communications
• Development of all Reebok brand communication strategies for the Canadian marketplace
◦ Execution of global strategic platforms in the Canadian market
◦ Adaptation/creation of local content to complement Global tools
• Develop cross channel media strategies to support key product introductions and brand concept launches for Canada
• Oversee key agency relationships; including media buying, public relations, consumer experience to ensure excellence in execution and meaningful ROI
• Analyze brand health measures and educate internal team on tracking & results
• Lead Reebok brand social strategy ensuring relevancy and appropriate content delivery across platform
• Lead development of any local content creation, ensuring alignment to global brand positioning, tone, and messaging
• Develop, in collaboration with Merchandising and Sales, seasonal Go-to-Market (GTM) strategies to support sell-in and profitable sell-through with key account customers
Partnerships
• Lead key strategic partner relationships (ex. CrossFit, Les Mills, UFC)
• Ensure brand connection & support for BOKS Before School Fitness program
• Develop and implement Go-to-Market (GTM) communication strategies for key partners, ensuring maximum leverage in the Canadian marketplace
• Identify, negotiate and secure relevant local market brand partnerships that deepen the consumer connection with the Reebok brand
• Deliver annual partner activation reviews, investment audits
Media and Content
• Lead creation of seasonal media plans in support of identified brand and product priorities in collaboration with merchandising and sales leaders
• Manage deployment of identified strategies ensuring timely delivery and message alignment
• Lead agency (Global and local) relationships ensuring timely delivery of identified KPI’s and aligned to budget parameters
Digital Marketing
• Collaborate with Trade Marketing team on the development / implementation of Key account digital strategies
• Liaise with DTC team to ensure brand communication alignment across category and business units
• Develop North American and Global Digital contacts to ensure collaboration and information flow to support the deployment of Canadian strategies
• Lead knowledge acquisition of digital Industry trends and ensure sharing of content knowledge to Reebok brand team
Public Relations
Lead develop of all PR strategies across categories to drive Reebok brand and product
• awareness in Canadian marketplace
• Manage agency relationship, establishing annual KPI’s and conducting performing annual agency review of deliverables
• Develop North American and Global PR contacts to ensure collaboration and information flow for the development of Canadian programs
Event Marketing
• Lead experiential strategies, leveraging key partnerships relationships to deliver meaningful consumer experiences
• Manage agency relationships to ensure delivery of all identified KPI’s
• Deliver bi-annual review and audit of strategic deliverables
Internal Marketing Support
• In collaboration with sales and merchandising, develop seasonal GTM sell–in plans for Key account presentation
• Develop and deliver brand presentations to internal and external stakeholders
• Monitor metrics to measure effectiveness of seasonal investments
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Up to 10 years post-graduate work experience in brand marketing, advertising
• Strong strategic thinker with extensive experience with global brand communication, media buying, public relations and consumer engagement
• Experience in managing customers, vendors, external agencies
• Detail oriented with exemplary oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills with a strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• The ability to meet strict and demanding guidelines.
• Proven leader with track record of developing & inspiring emerging leaders and building winning marketing teams
• Committed to demonstrate initiative and a compelling desire to tackle any project with energy and enthusiasm
• Creative minded with a desire to demonstrate constructive input and feedback in group discussions
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Sporting goods industry knowledge and/or experience an asset
Qualifications(Minimum required education and experience):
• University or College Graduate.
