As the Director of Product Merchandising you will lead the product creation efforts which includes line planning and the commercialization of styles. You must be able to create a vision for the line plan that supports the category’s strategic plan and delivers results. You will think creatively, recognize new business opportunities and communicate your ideas. You will understand the importance of a shared vision in motivating the collaborations team, and create strategies or methods to make your vision a reality. You will work closely with the design team to support their vision as well as balance the needs of the business. You will possess strong product acumen with deep product development experience across different product types. You will display a strong understanding of the consumer and a passion for this consumer.
You will drive speed to consumer via trend and commercial opportunities through the management of quick turn projects, capsule collections as well as special make ups (SMU’s) for strategic accounts and key partners (both retail and digital). You will lead the team on creation of seasonal product strategies and plans to achieve brand and category financial objectives with respect to revenue, margin, sku efficiency, and distribution.
You will be able to communicate effectively, choosing the right message medium and using active listening skills. You will balance the need to seek information with the need to be understood and the ability to communicate effectively in varied settings. You will be comfortable presenting in front of large groups of people and lead and influence others. You will manage a team of Product Line Managers and ensure that objectives are clear, and collaborate to ensure the team's success. You will provide coaching to help others achieve their personal best and motivate others to higher levels of achievement.

Qualifications:
• 8 years' relevant experience in product-related roles
• 2 additional years' relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
• Successful experience in development and management of team
• Product line experience and apparel product knowledge
• Strong business orientation, analytical aptitude, and retail math
• Strong business management experience with P&L responsibility
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and
presentations
• Ability to effectively communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts
to a wide and diverse audience
• Ability to effectively elevate strategic concerns to senior management in a timely and
accurate manner
• Ability to develop strong working relationships with management
• Sound judgment and ability to provide information toward the determination of policy
and strategy
• Ability to exercise high degree of professionalism
• Strong understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in
areas such as project/change management, idea creation, employee development,
coaching, and cross-team effectiveness
• Demonstrated leadership in fostering continuous learning, empowerment,
involvement, and opportunities
• Ability to travel up to 25% of time, including internationally
