Rodale is looking for a driven editor with expertise in e-commerce to develop and curate commerce-driven content for its portfolio of health and wellness brands. In this role, you will help develop the company’s overall affiliate commerce initiative and play a key role in executing Rodale’s daily comm-tent, writing and commissioning stories to a network of both internal and freelance writers. This position reports to the Director of Special Projects on the Digital Content team.
In this role, you will:
• Pitch, write, edit, and produce a high volume of original comprehensive product features, reviews, deal news, and buying guides
• Edit daily content from writers, ensuring the quality of all comm-tent is consistent with each brand’s voice and editorial standards
• Coordinate product coverage with editorial teams across Rodale, working with editorial leaders at each brand
• Collaborate closely with business development and sales to execute on revenue-generating comm-tent opportunities
• Research and stay up-to-date on trends in all product categories that are of interest to our readers to help generate ideas for coverage
• Develop and maintain a network of relevant public relations contacts, attending industry events and press previews as necessary
Ideal candidates will bring:
• 1-2 years of experience as a commerce-focused digital writer/editor, ideally in the lifestyle, health, fitness and style space
• Experience with working with affiliate commerce providers, such as Viglinks
• Rock-solid understanding of search engine optimization practices, with experience creating content tailored to search goals
• Fluency in web analytic tools, such as Google Analytics
• A natural curiosity for shopping and deal research in a variety of retail categories
• A proven ability to collaborate up and down the masthead and across business functions, including editorial, marketing, sales, and business development
• Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to give attention to a variety of priorities at once
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
