With responsibility for the largest COVERGIRL market, the US Marketing Team manages the daily business, develops local marketing plans, and executes the brand vision in order to deliver fiscal year targets across a portfolio of over 1,000 SKUs. We will outline clear strategies at the beginning of the year, but also adjust quickly to changing realities, weighing how those decisions affect the P&L. With the intense and competitive pace of the beauty category, you can never truly predict what's ahead!
What you will OWN on one of the most iconic brands in beauty:
The Brand Director, COVERGIRL US, is responsible for championing the business marketing strategies and executions in-market to deliver against annual targets. He/she will lead business recommendations relevant to the overall growth of the category while driving the planning, forecasting and analysis of the Brand’s health. This role will provide you with the responsibility of and accountability for the largest business in Coty’s Consumer Beauty Division, proving that you have a deep understanding of the cosmetics category, customer & channel dynamics, and what it takes to deliver a successful business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the total Brand Portfolio
• Working closely with Finance and Sales to develop Annual Targets, including sales and share goals and Strategies to achieve
• Leading Annual Marketing Plans
◦ Adapting Global Strategies to Local US Market
◦ Media Planning and execution
◦ Promotions Planning and execution
◦ Customer sell-in
• Leading monthly Brand S&OP discussions, including managing shipments and consumption
• Leading cross-functional team including Sales, Finance, Supply, Shopper Marketing and Demand Planning in weekly Go-to-Market meeting
• Working hand in hand with Trade Marketing to develop strong in-store and customer plans, pricing strategy and distribution growth
• Quarterly Brand Health reviews with Senior Leadership
Application Pre-Requisites:
• 10+ years+ experience in brand management and beauty, preferably in CPG to hit the ground running ASAP
• 4-year undergraduate Degree, or equivalent; MBA required
Special skills required:
• Leads - Envisions: "This is not your Momma's COVERGIRL" and we need your help to envision the future of the brand and how to bring our Global Brand Vision to life in the US market. We are seeking a Brand Director who thinks outside the box and is willing to challenge the status quo.
• Leads– Team Development: We believe strongly in the development of others in order to be a highly effective and winning team. We are looking for a Director who has demonstrated skills in managing, coaching, mentoring and developing others and is excited to continue this passion at Coty.
• Leverages Mastery: Understands the Business: It's critical for Directors to understand how the portfolio, segments, competitors and new initiatives and base properties are performing. This is not always easy since we have thousands of skus, but you'll learn how to identify the biggest opportunities.
• Embraces Change: We are constantly re-evaluating every part of the business model. Therefore, we're looking for a Director who truly embraces change and can help us move the brand forward.
• Builds Diverse, Collaborative Networks: COVERGIRL is a beauty brand built on relationships - with our multifunctional partners and with a myriad of external partners. You will need to navigate across agencies, key suppliers, and even celebrity talent. It can be a complex system, but provides great training in managing and collaborating with others!
