The Director, Brand Communications, People, Experiences and Engagement, is responsible for creating and driving outstanding communications and experiences that promote Gap as a great place to work environment.
This leader will play a pivotal role in helping to build, grow and retain an epic team through a communications, events and engagement strategy that will help employees and leaders understand their roles, build a winning culture and amplify our brand strategy, vision and values.
This leader provides strategic counsel, support and coaching to senior leaders and develops communications plans and materials to drive engagement, share information and convey change. This leader creates clear, concise communications ensuring information is accurate, relevant and timely and that it engages the audience and helps them understand the message.
This role oversees planning and execution for all major meetings, events and engagement activities going on within the brand, to ensure a balanced and dynamic approach to reaching employees. This includes global town halls, larger regional and functional team meetings, field conferences and HQ engagement activities.
The leader in this role inspires and leads change, is passionate about storytelling through communications and experiences and is able to implement innovative tactics to drive culture and engagement.
This role partners with the Global Head of Gap Communications to drive the overarching brand communications strategy and collaborates with the Brand Communications team and the regional communications teams around the world to deliver seamless and consistent messaging. This role will also work closely with the HR team and Gap Inc. Global Corporate Events team.
Reporting to this leader will be the Manager of Brand Meetings and Events and the Manager of Brand Communications.
·10 – 12 years corporate or brand communications experience, specializing in employee communications and event management
·Experience in the fashion, retail or another consumer facing sectors
·Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism or related field
·Excellent written, verbal and advisory skills with strong attention to detail
·Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe and In-Design preferred
·Demonstrable project management and planning skills, including ability to manage several initiatives/events at once and to effectively track, monitor and manage expenditures against budget.
·Ability to navigate complex organizational relationships and influence senior leaders in order to create alignment and meet timelines
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, work under tight deadlines and pressure and deliver for multiple executives in various time zones
·Ability to manage confidential, sensitive information discreetly
·Ability to work globally, collaborate with others and work effectively across teams without direct reporting relationships
·Willingness to work nights/weekends and travel as required.
