Job Description
As the Director of Editorial + Social Media, you will play a large role in developing the StyleHaul voice and elevating the brand by developing a strong media storyline and strategy while leading audience growth and content publishing across our portfolio of social media channels. This position reports directly into the VP of Marketing and will support branded content campaigns, network talent (creators) and Originals.
Qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the development of StyleHaul’s short and long-term strategy for content marketing across our O&O portfolio of web properties and social platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and Musical.ly, while developing the hub for this content on a standalone editorial platform
• Collaborate with appropriate team members, including the Social Media Managers, on daily publishing and community management tasks to support our 'always-on' approach with StyleHaul's online community, building relationships with our creators, responding in real-time and funneling feedback to the appropriate teams
• Attend relevant industry events on behalf of StyleHaul, both for general social media coverage as well as to amplify staff and talent presence/speaking engagements (e.g. VidCon, BeautyCon, NYX Face Awards, Fashion Week, etc.)
• Oversee and manage the re-launch of StyleHaul’s editorial platform and develop and execute editorial calendar
• Stay in-the-know and cover/amplify StyleHaul executive and corporate event appearances, press, achievements and top Creator initiatives and act as a resource for internal Creator Network teams, Campaign Management and Sales, keeping in mind our global perspective
• Coordinate with the Social Media Editor to maintain the StyleHaul content calendar and track weekly, quarterly and yearly growth across platforms
SKILLS:
• Incredible storyteller with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of social media best practices, emerging platforms and competitive and industry trends to position StyleHaul as relevant, best-in-class, ahead-of-the-curve and early to market
• Comfortable making recommendations and appropriate decisions, and able to exercise sound judgment in how the StyleHaul brand is represented in broadcast and dialogue (i.e. when to stay away from potentially sensitive topics, when to move conversations to DM or email, when to escalate internally, etc.)
• Ability to forecast and manage budget for social media initiatives
• Supportive, collaborative and proactive in relationship building and problem solving
• Multitasker with patience and positive attitude
• Quickly anticipate and resolve issues
REQUIREMENTS:
• 6-8 years of experience in an editorial role with an emphasis on social media and/or digital marketing
• Strong proficiency and understanding of social media platforms, best practices and familiarity with listening/analytics tools
• Experience with earned and paid media
• Strong relationship with other content publishers and/or editorial subjects for content and partnership resources
• Ability to work both proactively and reactively to educate internal partners on performance and growth
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an obsession for detail
• Ability to multi-task and work within an evolving corporate culture
• A little (or a lot!) pop-culture, fashion and beauty obsessed
• Ability to build and lead a strong team - social media doesn't sleep
