Director, Human Resources Innerwear / Consumer Engagement
The primary responsibility is to provide human resources leadership and business partnerships with the respective leaders of the Innerwear and Consumer Engagement organizations. Identify needs through the generation of insights and the translation of needs into human resources solutions that best enable the functions to meet its strategic objectives. The primary focus of this position includes human resources leadership and accountability across the full range of human resources functions; including ownership of comprehensive employee relations initiatives, provide the leadership component/ embracement of the company’s global code of conduct, possess expert knowledge to drive workforce planning- operating plan initiatives, talent management (development, succession planning, acquisition & retention;) accountable for a positive company culture, diversity, effective organization design and business practices compliance. As the lead human resources business partner for the Innerwear and Consumer Engagement organizations that are dispersed across the US, incumbent and direct reports are accountable to ensure consistent application of all human sources policies, processes and systems at the headquarters and national field locations, within the business and organizations they support.
Responsibilities:
• Define and drive human resources initiatives strategies; collaborates with executive business leaders to prioritize and set goals to ensure the human resource initiatives are totally aligned with business objectives, vision and HBI’s Global Code of Conduct. Determine employee resources needs and establish programming throughout the organization that align with the business strategies.
• Human resources business leader for innerwear and consumer engagement segments. From a human resources perspective, faces off / works with and for Group President IW- Americas and Chief Consumer Engagement Officer; and their senior team’s direct reports. Human resources partner and senior human resources leader in weekly senior staff meetings; human resources leader in monthly IDR meetings and other strategic initiatives for innerwear and consumer engagement.
• Create and drive a positive, cohesive senior team by providing human resources leadership that engages all direct and indirect staff, including the clear establishment of performance expectations, coaching, performance management, career development, reward and recognition, and positive employee morale. Lead management and human resources teams to support the business strategies during a period of significant change and growth in the business.
• Accountable for successful resolution of employee-management issues. Drives to create positive, best in class company culture and leads by example. A safe, positive work environment is essential. Incumbent is at the foundation and a key component of a company culture that is in full compliance in regard to the company’s Global Code of Conduct; requires the highest measure of business ethics for all employees and at all levels in the organization(s.)
• Possess expert knowledge and drives key business planning; i.e.; Workforce Planning- OPC initiatives for respective segments. Partners and works collaboratively with senior management, HRIM, Finance and Compensation and accountable for the annual Workforce Planning- OPC initiatives. Instructs, mentors and accountable to subordinates in reference to OPC knowledge for the development of future human resources leaders. Accountable for compliance within respective SG&A budgets in reference to the operating plan commitment (OPC.)
• Drives the Talent Management Review process for the respective organizations (development, succession planning, acquisition & retention.) Works in concert with the HBI Global Learning and Development team in reference to the subscribed TMR process. Partners with senior leadership teams and leads the process of building exceptional talent throughout the organization via recruitment, performance management, workforce planning, succession planning, career development, and diversity.
• Position requires a leadership role in the development of the proper organizational design(s.) This role is executed through effective collaboration and partnering with senior management team members and functional counterparts. The complexity of this responsibility is directly impacted by specific business factors, competitive situations and corporate strategies/ initiatives. Possess expert knowledge regarding the HBI approval grid in reference to new hires, “backfills” and job posting internal regulations.
• Accountable for the balanced work assignments and effective staffing alignment(s) for the Executive Assistants on the executive floor (5th.)
• Develop, maintain and audit effectiveness for all human resources initiatives/ processes to ensure an environment that is in compliance with governmental, state and internal regulations.
• Incumbent places major emphasis on the professional development of direct reports for human resources organizational excellence, growth and succession planning purposes.
• Performs other duties as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10 -15 years human resources generalist experience, with a minimum of five years in a leadership capacity.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills required.
• Experience and success in working within a matrix organization.
• Travel as needed (generally less than 20 %.)
• Subscribes and demonstrates the highest level of business ethics and internal Global Code of Conduct.
Preferred experience:
• Master’s degree
• Experience in national field organizations
