Position Title: Associate User Experience Designer
Reports to: Senior User Experience Designer
Location: Home Office - New Albany, OH
PositionSummary:
The User Experience (UX) Designer will deliver on Abercrombie & Fitch’s global digital experience strategy while ensuring the product adheres to industry best practices, utilizes advanced interface concepts, and aligns with business objectives. The successful individual is hands-on, having demonstrated knowledge of User-Centered Design (UCD) principles and capable of developing complex interactive functionality for desktop, tablet, mobile and digital devices. He/she possesses a keen understanding of user behavior, specifically in an ecommerce context. The right candidate recognizes the value of connecting the brand experience with technology and has a passion for solving problems, influencing in a cross-functional context, and delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
• Create deliverables, including all types of user experience assets, to support the development of A&F branded experiences and decisions regarding the experience and product roadmap
• Work closely with Creative, IT, and Product Management to foster an environment of multidisciplinary collaboration and creative problem-solving
• Help drive frequent iteration and evolution of design solutions for current and proposed experiences
• Work closely with the research teams to understand customer needs and behaviors throughout the design process
• Develop champion / challenger solutions, and drive implementation of winning designs
• Understand industry, user experience, and technology trends, and promote them where relevant within the Experience Design, Business, and IT groups.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Design Research, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Social Sciences, or related fields
• 2-4 years of UX design or related work experience
• Demonstrate proficiency in user centered design methods and excellent analytical problem solving skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication
• Experienced in the development of artifacts such as sketches, storyboards, scenarios, process flows, IA visualizations, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mock-ups, and functional specifications
• Proficient in a variety of design and prototype tools – Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite
• Demonstrate strong understanding of responsive web & mobile application design
• Familiar with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS capabilities and constraints
• Capacity to understand the UX and business consequences of technical decisions
• Experienced in communicating design thinking or complex issues to technical and business stakeholders
• Must be organized, capable of prioritizing and managing time, and possess strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
