Talbots is a leading retailer and direct marketer of women's classic apparel, shoes and accessories. We are looking for interns that are just as passionate as we are about fashion, collaboration, and customer service.
The Market Research/Consumer Insights Intern would assist with survey design/analysis plans, based on the needs of several departments such as Marketing, Merchandising and E-commerce. The intern will analyze, interpret and code information gathered from customer feedback and assist with research reports/presentations. The intern may be asked to complete some competitive intelligence research.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist in the development of quantitative research materials such as survey design, questionnaire development, programming surveys, compiling data, etc.
• Perform data entry (and checking) of quantitative data
• Code verbatims, (break down qualitative feedback to the general theme).
• Assist in the creation of PowerPoint and Word report.
• Continuous learning and development
• Learn industry-standard market research and strategy development tools
• Develop connections between college coursework and Market Research projects
• Learn about the connections between research projects and business strategies
The Intern will also be given exposure to other departments throughout the organization to gain a better understanding to how they all work together.
Job Requirements
• Must have a desire to learn and gain exposure within the Market Research/Consumer Insights field.
• Ideally academic and/or practical experience with survey or market research methodologies.
• Moderate-level Microsoft Office skills, (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Must show strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be self-motivated, and possess a desire to work with data and numbers.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Currently enrolled and working towards a college degree
• Most importantly a curiosity and desire to learn
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Summer of 2017.
