Inventory Planning & Purchasing Director needed for NIKE, Inc.
Located in Beaverton, OR. Will provide leadership and strategic direction for an inventory planning and purchasing team in Beaverton, OR. Will be accountable to monitor business performance and deliver results versus targeted objectives for inventory performance and service levels to the marketplace. Will also be accountable to communicate results and education of any variances to targeted expectations across key stakeholders. Will drive functional expertise for the team to optimize the alignment of demand to supply and ensure successful conversion of Purchase Orders to achieve coverage results. Will promote process excellence and innovation across the Inventory Planning and Purchasing Teams and foster collaborative relationships with cross functional partners to deliver the category strategy with the right product at the right place and time. Will lead a team to ensure the delivery of inventory strategies to support the objectives of the inventory planning and purchasing group and to ensure successful purchase order execution, including ensuring that talent needs are met, setting the team direction, and reviewing the performance of subordinate employees. Will deliver business objectives for inventory planning and purchasing activities to ensure that results align to inventory, service level, and coverage targets. Will define team performance success criteria, including establishing key performance indicators and targets. Will track progress against key performance indicators and establish monitoring capabilities. Will determine and take corrective actions against business risk. Will have 5 direct subordinates. Will travel domestically and internationally 5-10 percent of the time.
Qualifications
Applicant must have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Supply Chain Management and 3 years of experience in inventory planning for sports apparel. This must include 3 years of experience in the following:
(1) determining material needs and buying plans to maintain high service levels and inventory levels,
(2) working in operations, including supply chain manufacturing experience,
(3) defining and developing the inventory strategy for major league sports apparel,
(4) working with cross functional partners from product creation to order delivery,
(5) providing data modeling with regression models,
(6) collaborating with other teams to determine appropriate inventory for specific geographic areas based upon need and service levels, and (7) overseeing manufacturing capacity in regards to inventory staging and process planning in supply chains.
