MISSION/ROLE
The Wholesale Planner will provide key data and analytics of performance within Product Categories for their specific subset of Wholesale Accounts. Managing open-to-buys, location sales and product performance data, the Planner will share key learnings with their Sales and Finance partners and Merchandising to help drive successful growth and profitability within the channel.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Provides strategic and analytical support to drive achievement of sales plan, improved gross margin and key financial goals.
• Assists in budget preparation and monitoring.
RETAIL PROFITABILITY:
• Maintains and utilizes account level retail OTB to profitably plan and grow the business. Works closely with the sales team and retailers to ensure all opportunity/liability is addressed.
ASSORTMENT PLANNING:
• Sets top line revenue targets and provides assortment planning guidance for seasonal buys to help ensure proper penetration by product category. Partners with Account Executives to ensure style level forecasts support Retailer and corporate financial plans. Makes additional recommendations to Sales team to address corporate gaps and/or discrepancies. Monitors ongoing demand and inventory needs especially for key replenishment programs.
CORPORATE REPORTING:
• Serves as wholesale lead for owned accounts retail reporting, including weekly style selling and category performance.
• Compiles quarterly hindsight reporting by account for use in future assortment planning and replenishment forecasting.
WHOLESALE PROFITABILITY:
• Provide ongoing analysis and review using the retail OTB as a guide, works closely with Sales and Wholesale Finance to accurately forecast wholesale revenue, RTV's, MD's, and VA impact. Instrumental in forward budget planning.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field
• 5 to 7 years related experience
• Strong MS Excel skills required; VBA proficiency preferred
• Excellent retail math skills; Planning experience in a department store environment is preferred
• The ability to translate a retail OTB into the wholesale language
