The Associate Marketing Manager position plays a key role in maximizing sales, lifetime value and customer engagement to the brand. This person will work closely with cross functional business partners from marketing, creative, and merchandising to meet business goals. This position is ideal for a team player with strong strategic, analytical, project management and marketing skills. S/he enjoys relationship building, and working in a highly dynamic and matrixed environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Circulation Planning:
• Develops the catalog circulation plan, targeted direct mail strategies and catalog prospecting plans
• Responsible for developing circulation plan using historical data and current trends
• Project-manage targeted direct mail through each stage of execution: prioritize and schedule campaigns; provide expense forecasts, determine targeting and selection criteria, direct creative development, and facilitate communications with stores and operational teams
• Report trends and performance to internal and external teams
• Build budget assumptions based on strategy changes: page counts, newness %, timing changes, shifts in product strategy
• Work cross functionally to improve housefile retention through analytics and testing
• Flow seasonal demand from circulation plan into fiscal weeks and days
• Manage housefile and prospect mail selections for each catalog mailing
Financial Planning and Forecasting:
• Build name flow model used for circulation planning
• Develop circulation scenarios to achieve different business goals such as driving topline, or building retention and reactivation rates
• Manage the development of prospect plans and financial performance for acquisition efforts. Adjust plans based on current trend performance
Analysis:
• Work with customer analytics team to understand purchasing behavior for developing future page counts, modeling, testing, and contact strategies
• Analyze campaign performance, assess profitability impact and recommend program changes when necessary
Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in marketing / direct marketing including the development, execution, and analysis of multi-channel marketing programs
• Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen, data analysis and problem solving skills required. Must be savvy with Excel and comfortable using advanced functions and pivot tables to analyze and display pertinent information
• Individual must be flexible and comfortable working through change and ambiguity in a highly dynamic environment. Able to bring structure to ambiguous situations
• Detail oriented with strong project and process management skills. Can multi-task while working autonomously and as part of a team
• Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills. Has experience in leading and influencing distinct functional areas (e.g., IT, Marketing, Store Operations) in support of specific business priorities es3
• Past CRM, circulation or retail experience preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s Degree; MBA a plus
