General Summary:
Gap Brand is seeking a Staff Financial Analyst to join the Gap Global Marketing Finance team. This role reports to the Manager of Marketing Finance and supports the Marketing leadership team to deliver on financial goals. The role will be responsible for divisional and marketing expense lines.
Essential Job Duties:
• Build the annual budget and lead the monthly forecast and close processes for Gap Online Marketing expenditures across marketing, PR and other departments
• Identify and research monthly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
• Act as Finance liaison to Marketing with respect to all financial inquiries
• Partner with and maintain a strong working relationship with the all functional leaders on the Gap Global Leadership team including Strategic Sourcing
• Prepare executive presentations for budget and forecast that provide insight and analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions
• Educate and influence executive leaders through forecast, budget, and ad hoc analyses
• Identify process efficiencies and work cross-functionally to research and implement best practices
• Self-starter with demonstrated drive & initiative
• Bachelors degree in Finance / Accounting, or related field; MBA a plus. 1- 2 years of work experience, preferably in financial analysis with a strong knowledge of financial/accounting principles and theory
• Advanced Excel skills required, as well as strong working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Hyperion Essbase; knowledge of Oracle financial systems and Access a plus
• Organized and detail-oriented professional with proven analytical ability and creative problem solving skills
• Exceptional written, listening, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to create and deliver presentations with clarity and impact
• Emphasis on interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead conversations with executive management and to articulate financial concepts to business partners outside of finance in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to handle confidential data with maturity and discretion
• Passionate about the business and independently motivated to achieve results; excited about working in a team-oriented environment
• Retail experience a plus
