Clarks Americas is looking for an Asisstant Buyer who is responsible for assiting the buying team in the management of the product throughout its lifecycle. You would be responsible for having a clear understanding of our product strategies, offerings and performance, as well as our competitor's trading strategies. We are looking for someone with proven success within a retail environment that is passionate about product and looking to learn more about buying within the footwear industry.
• To be a competitor expert, having a clear understanding of our competitor product, pricing and trading plans.
• Creatively present competitor findings to the wider B&M team and provide in-store teams with powerful selling tools.
• Develop strong cross functional relationships and manage the provision of product information and communication materials to store operations, marketing, planning, and product teams.
• Manage in-season trading performance contributing to monthly meetings and work with Trading Planning to capture lessons learned.
• Works proactively to ensure business objectives are achieved through best possible marketing strategies.
• Request and maintain sample coordination for trade meetings, and presentations.
• Provide support to the Director of Buying in the creation of key documents, accurately & in a timely manner.
• Manage 3rd Party vendor and article create process.
• Assist with store planning team on new arrivals and distribution strategy
• Regular updates to show where we are ahead/behind in the market and to assist Buyers to select the most appropriate ranges.
Essential Knowledge:
• Passion for product
• Understanding of Visual Merchandising
• Understanding of consumer behaviors and trends
• Strong communication skills
• Excel (pivot and vlook ups are essential) and PowerPoint experience
• Proven success working in a retail environment
• Footwear/apparel experience preferred
