PURPOSE
The Senior Email Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Digital Marketing and will lead the Email Marketing team in the implementation of the Direct Digital Marketing strategies and roadmap across the delivery of the email marketing plan, digital projects and migration to a new ESP.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is within the Direct Digital Marketing team, part of the wider Digital Marketing team. Key responsibilities for the Senior Email Marketing Manager include, but are not limited to:
• Lead, motivate and empower a team of high-performing digital marketing professionals to deliver best-in-class email campaigns and programmes. Managing the team’s workload and resources, and ensure execution process is followed, with effective contingency plans in place.
• Manage and lead on the implementation of the long-term email strategies with support from the team.
• Work with colleagues from the Digital streams on the planning, strategy and execution of digital and innovation projects included in the Direct Digital Marketing roadmap, including triggers, automation journeys and data capture projects.
• Act as business owner for an ESP migration project working closely with IT and business project team, including email design lead, on the successful migration of the email creation, audience and campaign management of all marketing emails to the new ESP. Project includes area such as data set-up and selection, IP address warm-up, campaign deployment, email creation, reporting.
• Manage and lead temporary project team in the delivery of the ESP migration and launch.
• Manage effective internal communication with stakeholders including Copy team, PM and Creative team (designer and developer), Data & Insight team,wider marketing, commercial and creative teams and the wider business.
• Champion continuous advancement of our email features including targeting, personalisation and automation and stay current with best practices, strategies and industry standards related to email as well as maintenance of a close relationship with Insight and data team to maximise the use of data logic.
• Work closely with other team leaders across {platforms}, {SEO} and {social media} to deliver a consistent, seamless experience for Burberry’s digital consumers regardless of the digital touch point.
PERSON PROFILE
• Bachelor degree educated or above
• Extensive email marketing experience with a background in leading email creation, planning and campaign management.
• Experience with ESP, marketing automation programmes and platforms
• Proven track record of successfully delivery of ESP migration projects.
• Strong understanding of CRM and data
• Proven track record motivating and managing a high-performing team
• Passion to innovate and consistently deliver best-in-class digital marketing experiences
• Highly numerate and analytical approach
• Sets the example internally with a positive, can-do attitude
• Luxury fashion and retail experience is preferred, but not essential
• Personable, collaborative, confident, articulate
• Strong communication
