Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The Director Brand Finance - Digital acts as a financial advisor and business partner to the brand adidas senior management team, in particular the Digital Brand Commerce team by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making. The Director Brand Finance - Digital supervises and drives the business planning and tracking to achieve (financial) targets as well as the brand’s strategy. In his role the Director Brand Finance - Digital provides guidance and insights to Marketing and Finance teams in the area of planning & target setting and convinces global and local teams to coordinate and streamline processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advice and influence brand adidas senior management team in strategic planning as well as translating strategic business targets in yearly and department targets.
• Financial support of the creation and achievement of a single digital strategy for the full digital ecosystem.
• Financial advise the digital transformation process and support in the build-up of digital capabilities.
• Lead and direct ad-hoc and scenario analysis for fast decision taking. Ensure financial guidelines are respected and identify critical processes & advice solutions
• Inspire new process and reporting standards for entire P&L tracking. Significantly impact to the achievement of the department strategy.
• Enable a fact based decision-making process by creating transparency on key performance indicators with respect to business plans.
• Supervise the Budgeting, Forecasting and Management of cost centers and Marketing Working Budget of DBC and Digital Sports. In particular, manage IT budget, prioritization & investment associated with digital platforms and tools.
• Proactively identify significant improvement potential, derive solutions and facilitate related decisions.
• Manage and develop team members and set environment for performance across locations.
• Develop functional, technical and social skills within the team (esp. provide guidance and leadership to direct reports, interns, trainees, etc.)
• Provide training, mentorship and leadership to define standards, processes and procedures within own area of responsibility but also in the larger circle of concern within the finance and marketing department.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Comprehensive business understanding of processes and structure
• High degree of customer orientation
• Ability to maneuver in consistently changing environment
• Ability to operate cross-functionally and understanding of external business drivers
• Thorough understanding of the complexity, interactions and dynamics within an international company
• Very good communication skills for persuasion and convincing others both internally and externally
• Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to coach, guide, manage, and develop a mid-size team
• Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational and strategic plans
• Excellent analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
1. University degree in Business Administration/Finance/Controlling
2. Comprehensive understanding of system landscape (Grape, SAP, POS BW, BI Sales, GRS, Microstrategy)
3. 10 years working experience in Finance department
4. 3+ years in people management role
