Responsibilities:
• Oversee the financial close for the Stores, E-Commerce and Wholesale channels, which includes the J.Crew Retail, J.Crew Factory and Madewell brands;
• Coordinate with Financial Planning & Analysis and Financial Reporting regarding monthly close and planning and forecast cycles.
• Liaison with various departments to ensure accurate recording of actual results and preparation of reliable forecasts;
• Review general ledger entries and reconciliations for critical accounts;
• Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis to support the decision making of senior management;
• Support the growth of the wholesale business by driving improvement in accounting processes and systems;
• Assist in evaluating new technical accounting developments and recommend appropriate actions; drive process improvement;
• Assist with the external audit process, including preparation and review of PBC items;
• Manage a high performance team, including 4 managers and 5 staff;
• Actively participate in building a culture that is customer-focused and team-oriented;
• Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of practical accounting experience, preferably in public accounting and/or the retail industry;
• Project management skills
• MS Office software knowledge (especially Excel)
• Strong analytic, problem solving and reporting skills
• Excellent collaboration and communications skills
• Experience in delivering/supporting end user training.
• SAP experience a plus
• CPA strongly preferred
