Prevention.com, the website for the leading health magazine Prevention with more than 10mm uniques per month, seeks a skilled, hard-working Associate Producer to join our digital publishing team. The ideal candidate has experience in web editorial, is energetic, organized and deadline-driven, and works well in a fast-paced environment. In addition to daily tasks — including uploading content to our site, coding newsletters, researching and resizing images, and executing SEO strategy — this person will work closely with the digital production manager and associate director of digital content to optimize and enhance Prevention.com.
This position is based in Prevention’s Emmaus, PA office and reports to the digital production manager.
Responsibilities:
• Work directly in the content management system (Drupal) to input and publish content
• Research and prepare photos for online use (includes checking rights, resizing, and optimizing)
• Lead the production and coding of Prevention’s mobile site initiative
• Assist with managing Prevention’s IT project log, which includes writing spec docs for new projects, testing new functionality on the development and staging environments, and monitoring and updating the IT ticketing system
• Build and manage newsletters by prepping text, HTML, and tracking tags
• Support overall site operations by managing content builds, maintaining sweepstakes, and executing SEO strategies.
• Take initiative in site improvements and user experience
• Attending editorial and creative meetings and contributing to the site in other capacities, if desired
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree including internships, preferably in a digital environment
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and insatiable appetite to learn
• Solid understanding of digital best practices and the technologies involved
• Solid footing in CSS and HTML
• Basic understanding of Javascript
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop (resizing, uploading photos)
• Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
