At our Global headquarters, located in downtown Boston, we are looking for a Finance Director, North America Direct to Consumer. In this role you will lead the retail finance team to prepare annual & quarterly financial plans, optimize a profit & growth agenda, help prioritize investments in our stores and website, and actively manage our retail business. You will report into the CFO, North America.
Responsibilities:
• Leads monthly forecast, annual budget, and long-term strategic planning processes for regional direct-to-consumer function (outlet stores, digital commerce, and inline stores).
• Develops and drives achievement of short/long term goals critical to the company’s success.
• Participates in cross-functional discussions and initiatives and utilizes internal and/or external partnerships (including Nike retail teams) to leverage resources and enhance business group effectiveness.
• Works with cross-functional direct-to-consumer leaders (planning, allocation, store operations, real estate, buying, and e-commerce) to establish key financial measures and business strategies that are aligned with long-term growth strategies
• Manages the preparation of timely and insightful financial analysis to determine progress against both long and short-term strategic plans.
• Actively interprets and reviews financial results with senior leaders, including trends/issues and opportunities, to drive actionable responses.
• Ensures business leaders are educated on use and interpretation of retail specific financial trends, inventory metrics, and other key performance indicators.
• Oversees and/or leads analysis that aids in the decision making process for all real estate and digital investments.
• Leads a talented team (2-3 individuals), setting individual and team goals aligned with department and functional goals.
• Coaches staff, creates opportunities for development, makes hiring decisions, and drives performance management, recognition and rewards.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field with an emphasis in finance and/or accounting
• CPA or MBA will be an asset for future progression
• 8+ years' extensive experience in financial analysis, financial/strategic planning, retail specific metrics, accounting and/or budgeting
• .com experience
Retail experience and understanding of retail KPI’s a plus
• 3+ years' proven people management experience
• Excellent knowledge of strategic planning, budgeting, investment analysis and economic profit analysis and knowledge of GAAP is strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Strong ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers
• Demonstrated leadership in building an effective learning environment, creating empowering processes and leading major change implementation efforts
• Ability to pass a 7 year background check
