Benefit Cosmetics is one of the fastest-growing global prestige cosmetics brands, and the Product Marketing Sr. Analyst will play an instrumental role in driving Benefit’s double-digit growth. This high-impact, high-visibility position will be responsible for supporting strategic & long-term planning, business result analysis, and forecasting & new product planning. This position will manage and measure Benefit’s Long-Term Plan and other key tools used in defining the global marketing strategy and guiding new product development, in order to make recommendations to the EVP Global Marketing. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining key global reports including the Top 50 Global Sales report, SKU Productivity, Competitive Analysis, and New Launch Performance reports. This position requires strong creative and analytical skills and will serve as a key contributor for future product and marketing plans. This position reports directly to the EVP of Global Marketing and manages the junior analyst.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic & Long-Term Planning:
• Manage and measure the Long-Term Plan, including actual performance and segment forecasting
• Measure segment performance of new and core products versus the objectives of the Long-Term Plan
• Measure and analyze SKU productivity by market and ensure it supports LTP objectives
• Maintain our efficient SKU assortment by making recommendations on key segment launches and phase-outs
• Facilitate a smooth and efficient phase-out process by collaborating with inventory management, communicating with global teams, and elevating key inventory issues
• Work with Operations and International Development teams to drive all product phase-outs global communications
• Provide recommendations on new product launch cadence, new product launch calendar, and LTP objectives by segments based on analytics and insights
Analyzing Business Results:
• Create and maintain key global reports including the Top 50 Global Sales report, SKU Productivity, Competitive Analysis, and New Launch Performance
• Communicate with global markets to gather key performance metrics, including Star Product trackers data
• Galvanize findings and make recommendations based on analyses to both high-level executives and local market teams around the world
Forecasting & New Product Planning:
• Manage and drive forecasting by providing key analyses including cannibalization, benchmarks, competitive price analysis, and percent-of-business references
• Contribute to the new product planning process and matrix for new launches in collaboration with Innovation and Promo & Sampling teams; recommendations based on data and analysis.
• Perform competitive pricing analysis and provide new product SRP recommendations
• Provide ad hoc research and analysis
• Participate in new product brainstorming meetings
• All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA desired.
• 5+ years of investment banking or consulting experience or equivalent experience in which data analysis is a core function is desired.
• Must have a passion and flare for cosmetics and Benefit
• Excellent Excel/modelling and Powerpoint skills required
• Strategic and proactive business thinker with an ability to think both creatively and analytically and demonstrates ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Strong ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Independent thinker who works well in ambiguous situations
