The Sales Manager leads a team of sellers that drive the customer experience and achieve all sales targets. The role is also responsible for providing an employee experience for the sales team that retains key talent, drives performance, and rewards and recognizes top performers.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Lead, motivate, and retain a team of high performing employees
• Continuously recruit, select, hire, and on-board the best talent.
• Communicate performance goals to employees and provide coaching to behaviors that help achieve those goals.
• Recognize and reward extraordinary performance; give feedback and develop performance improvement plans for underperforming employees.
• Through developmental activities and coaching, increase the number of Sales Consultants achieving $1M in sales as well as the dollar volume of cross-selling
• Serve as manager-in-charge of the store and assume General Manager duties as requested.
• Teach and attend all educational sessions offered including product knowledge, vendor, and Holt Renfrew seminars.
• Implement customer relationship management strategies including customer events, luncheons, correspondence, and outreach programs.
• Assist the store team with customer service, POS, and service and selling.
The ideal candidate:
• High school diploma
• 3-5 years supervisory experience with accountability for driving sales through people
• Proven track record of exceeding sales and profit targets
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to effectively manage relationships internally and externally including confrontations, coaching and team building
• Retail selling experience in a luxury environment preferred.
