Mission
The Finished Good Planner – FGP generates a constrained supply plan for the factory.
Functions
• Set and maintain inventory parameters in accordance with defined policies and processes to allow forecasts to be accurately translated into manufacturing production schedules in support of the company's business objectives.
• Review MPS weekly and convert to a weekly production schedule
• Interface with Operations to ensure the implementation and use of the most efficient, cost effective manufacturing strategies by product type.
• Troubleshoot, expedite and de-expedite to meet service and inventory KPI’s while responding to real-time changes in demand.
• Manage Excess and Obsolete inventory (track, monitor, perform root cause analysis, and manage disposition and disposal of E&O)
• Review and recommend SKUs for discontinuation based on life cycle management
• Review and manage capacities out to 6 months for assigned resource.
• Conduct meetings and deliver presentations as required
• Business liaison to Demand Planning and Factory New Product Development

Knowledge / Abilities / Skills
Knowledge:
• Planning Principles (MPS, MRP, DRP and various inventory management techniques/ concepts)
• Business Results, KPIs, and In-Process Measures
• Rough Cut Capacity Management
• Product Life Cycle Management
• Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA)
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Process Mapping
• Knowledge of Inventory Policy (SS, Cycle stock, ,etc)
Functional / Technical Skills:
• Continue Process Improvements
• ERP system experience, SAP preferred.
• Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Abilities:
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability to balance short and medium range plan to account for limitations of materials or manufacturing capacity
• Ability to conduct run-out analysis and make recommendations based on subjective data.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility when faced with frequent operational changes.
• Display leadership capabilities to motivate people outside sphere of influence
• Demonstrate ability to take on projects and drive to completion.
Education / Experience Requirements:
• 4 year degree preferred
• 2+ years of Manufacturing Planning experience or equivalent experience.
• Project planning and scheduling experience is a plus.
• APICS certification preferred.
