JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for driving 3 key initiatives for Sephora’s marketing team 1) Brand marketing/strategy for the Sephora retail brand, 2) Championing consumer insights at Sephora, 3) Developing key strategic presentations. The director has a deep understanding and passion for our client and the Sephora brand and is a marketing strategist who works closely with key cross-functional partners across the company to bring alive the Sephora and consumer value proposition.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Brand marketing/brand strategy
◦ Manage marketing strategy plan and act as liaison with cross-functional partners on other strategies that impact marketing
◦ Building annual marketing calendar that supports merchandising and cross-functional initiatives
◦ Develop marketing strategies for new Sephora Brand initiative
◦ Lead the Experiential Retail marketing strategy
◦ Champion the Sephora retail brand and building client brand love/loyalty
◦ Oversee marketing budget development and management. Partner with marketing partners to assure initiatives are on budget
• Industry and Consumer insights
◦ Monitor industry and consumer trends and disseminate insights through organization
◦ Share marketing insights and trends
◦ Review and evaluate competitors marketing campaigns and brand awareness
◦ Using input from our analytics and market research team, responsible for our client profile and developing an actionable picture of who she is
◦ Identify new ways to leverage the BI community for feedback and insights for both Sephora and brands and work closely with marketing and Beauty Insider team to execute these ideas
◦ Partner with analytics team on brand tracker and scoping client market research
◦ Work with Director of Campaigns & Content on client insights and hindsights for animations and campaigns
• Marketing strategy presentations
◦ Partners across cross-functional teams and key marketing team members to develop key presentations including:
# Brand health reports
# Communications/updates to executive Sephora & LVMH leadership
# Annual marketing strategy documents
◦ Maintains key agendas for core team meetings including:
# Global marketing updates
# Regular internal marketing updates
◦ Ongoing ad hoc presentations for and by the marketing leadership team
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum seven years of experience in retail or marketing strategy
• Must have experience in commissioning and interpreting research
• Profile is likely someone who has consulting experience focused in marketing
• Strong understanding of client insights
• Beauty retail experience a plus
• This role is a marketing strategy position; we’re looking for candidates who are strategic and grounded in consumer-facing marketing
