Responsibilities
The Director of Marketing for the Metropolitan Consumer will own the consumer strategy and global launches for our 3 biggest segments: Running, Women’s and Lifestyle. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the annual and seasonal global marketing strategies and plans. You will oversee our strategic events and marathons which includes our 10 year partnership with the New York Road Runners. You will provide leadership and development opportunities for a talented team of 15+.
• Build a strong, cohesive and engaged team
• Create 360 integrated marketing plans to activate the Metropolitan (Met) consumer in footwear and apparel for running, lifestyle and women’s categories
• Ensure all of our athletes and assets across the world are activated for the Met consumers
• Provide oversight over NYRR, All New York races, Grassroots Global Events (i.e. NB Nationals)
• Develop seasonal sales meeting/GTM tools and materials
• Develop the annual plans and budgets for the Met categories to align with Global Business, NB Brand, and Global Business Unit priorities
• Develop strategy in partnership with Brand, Product, and Consumer insights teams
• Collaborate with Product and Sales Teams, Regional Marketing Teams, and other Marketing functional areas such as Brand Design, Digital, Sports Marketing, Wearable Technology, PR, etc.
• Partner with NB.com, DTC and regional marketing teams on seasonal Met Category, product marketing campaigns and category activation
• Partner with the Digital team for managing social media
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred, with 15+ years of global marketing experience.
• Well-rounded brand marketing experience including a detailed understanding of consumer touch points including advertising, event marketing, with a heavy emphasis on digital and retail environments/channels.
• Strong understanding of the creative process. Proven experience translating strategic goals into creative solutions and experience in production planning and execution.
• Experience with working in a cross functional/regional matrix type of marketing organization and international markets is a must.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization and with external partners, agencies and collaborators.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and trends.
• Proven track record in establishing strategic direction; development and design of programs as well as execution of all program elements.
• Complex problem-solving and ability to facilitate problem solving amongst the team.
• Strong leadership and team management.
• Experience in sports and sports fashion preferred
• Travel Required
