Marketing Specialist
OPI / A division of COTY Professional Beauty (Presently North Hollywood, CA / Relocating to Calabasas, CA Sept 2017)
Job Summary:
Directly support the OPI North America Marketing team in commercial execution and business process management. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing the budget process and overall spending tracking, full promotions approval process including payouts, customization, timelines and creative deliverables, and supporting the creative design, purchasing and top customer support processes. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, collaborative, highly organized, efficient, and able to manage multiple projects with attention to details and proactive approach to get things done.
Essential Functions:
• Lead brand path to purchase process. Maintain continuous budget planning and tracking, delivering month end closes and FY end close within ± 1% of target.
• Coordinate promotions planning and approval process with Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure on time and correct execution.
• Own completion of promotion deployment materials for field sales.
• Lead kick off of brand creative requests; manage routing with Marketing and Trade Marketing as needed.
• Own and deliver smaller creative projects with Senior Brand Manager’s approval.
• Responsible working with the Trade Marketing Team to facilitate the deployment of brand assets, promotions, and follow up on top customer requests.
• Lead specific project work related to national sales meetings, commercial brand support projects, and product sampling.
• Various administrative tasks including faxing, filing and facilitating calls/meetings.
• Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree (Business, Marketing, Communications or related field or similar discipline)
• Must have 1-2 years of Corporate/Office experience (Preferably in Marketing/Advertising)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related software skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Bias to action to deliver projects complete and on-time, with ability to motivate others to support.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the Beauty or Cosmetics industries
• Ideally, familiar with Adobe Professional and/or Adobe Photoshop
Work Environment:
• Work will be conducted in a standard office environment with associated distractions such as noise from telephones, keyboards, talking, paging systems, machinery and equipment. Temperatures are regulated by facilities management and are not within the direct control of the individual.
• Exposure to standard chemicals used in an office environment is expected and includes but is not limited to toner, glue and liquid paper, etc.
