As the people leader in our quickly growing engineering organization, you’ll be responsible for building out and managing a team of amazing engineers across several languages and platforms. You’ll have a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to develop a team of engineers who will work together to meet the diverse needs of the entire organization. You understand the importance of guidance, mentorship and leadership and we want you to bring those attributes to Le Tote to help grow our engineering teams and deliver amazing products to our customers.
We’re looking for a Director of Engineering with progressive technical experience, a demonstrated progression of management scope, sharp coding skills, and a passion for managing outstanding engineers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Build, scale and mentor a cohesive team of amazing engineers and leaders
• Establish a robust and scalable hiring process while maintaining a high bar for talent
• Define the organizational structure of the team as we grow
• Partner with the VP of Engineering to develop a roadmap for the engineering team and our products.
• Help set the team’s long and short-term priorities, and make sure they’re aligned with the broader company goals
• Lead annual headcount planning and staffing resource planning processes for a complex and high growth business
• Build strong relationships across the organization to ensure cross-functional collaboration
Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant technical experience
• 5+ years of engineering management
• Track record of solving complex problems, designing creative strategies, and delivering significant impact as a manager and a leader
• Experience managing and recruiting engineering teams of 50+ people in a high growth environment
• Highly technical with experience in one of the following languages: Ruby, Javascript, Swift, or Elixir
• Outstanding communication skills: able to break down the complexity of what you are building into bite-sized chunks that key stakeholders can understand.
• Patience, a sense of humor, and an equal willingness to teach and learn
