The Role:
FOR THE MOST CREATIVE THINKERS IN FASHION.
The role is responsible for working with our international Photography teams in Guimarães, Hong Kong and Los Angeles to roll out global Photography projects, share best practice and ensure global consistency to maintain Farfetch’s high Photography standards, making us an unrivalled brand in the Luxury Fashion space.
What You’ll do:
• Drive the Farfetch brand aesthetic through our on-line photography
• Produce guidelines, share new trends and techniques, and provide training to other photographers across all international studios.
• Promote, test, document and implement changes to the photography process in the light of the continuous improvement culture of the Kaizen methodology
• Monitor and define the work methodologies of the teams in order to ensure alignment across the various photography teams. Create robust process documentation for photography style guides.
• Research and develop techniques and best practices for shooting new categories/projects, and disseminate those practices across the team and/or company
• Evaluate photography metrics weekly, make recommendations to improve performance and/or efficiencies
• Guides and coach team members on necessary improvements, provides direct support in specific cases /problems that require more extensive expertise
• Motivate, Educate and Inspire Global Photography teams
Who You Are:
• Educated to at least degree level, ideally in Photography, Digital Arts, Graphic Arts/Design, or related
• A proven balance of both commercial photography experience in a high volume environment and proven track record of Creative/Editorial knowledge.
• Experience of overseeing an international Photography team and have strong team work skills
• You will have a professional photography portfolio that demonstrates an expert-level knowledge of digital photography, including lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics across an array of client environments.
• A consultative approach with the ability to clearly articulate ideas to gain stakeholder buy-in
• Expert proficiency with the current industry-standard software tools:
• Adobe Bridge – Advanced
• Lightroom – Expert
• Photoshop – Advanced
• Canon Cameras system - Advanced
• Expert knowledge of all stages of the photography process and tools included in Digital Photography
• A creative eye with excellent attention to detail
• Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate creative ideas
• Commercially focused
• An agile, approachable attitude with good problem-solving skills and a desire to get involved in all aspects of e-commerce
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• An understanding of fashion and luxury brands essential
• Self-driven and willingness to ‘roll up your sleeves’
• Project management experience advantageous
• Ability to travel
