Purpose:
The objective of the adidas Group’s Corporate Communication Team is to create #Comms you are dying to share. The Corporate Communication Team enhances the company’s reputation and positively impacts its employees’ engagement by developing impactful storylines and communicating them to internal and external audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Acts as spokesperson for the adidas Group and its brands globally
• Leads media relations team (3-4 employees) incl day-to-day press office activities
• Acts as trusted communication consultant to Board members and Senior Management across the adidas Group
• Drives strategic conversations and decision-making processes with business partners
• Develops strategic PR plan for the adidas Group globally
• Positions the adidas Group and adidas as a leading company in business, financial, HR, sustainability media globally by driving all media relations efforts
• Ensures leading share of voice for adidas Group in select media globally
• Responsible for strategy and direction of Group’s storytelling in earned media, also ensuring that Board member and senior management team are on board
• Responsible for driving crisis communications if/when necessary
• Direct + drive alignment process with markets and brands in terms of media relations globally
• Ensures one-voice approach on above mentioned topics across entire organization (e.g. newsrooms globally, markets)
• Directs team to develop and implement impactful content for earned channels worldwide ensuring alignment with Content Creation and Strategy team on key focus topics
• Directs team to create new and improved communication methods for entire concepts, stories and messaging for media globally
• Significantly contributes to the achievement of the department strategy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• University degree in business studies/marketing/communication/PR or sports
• Comprehensive understanding of communication and business topics
• 8-12 years relevant experience
• Solid experience as spokesperson of global organization, incl crisis and issues management
• Strong network among corporate media in Germany and other key markets (US, Western Europe, China, Latin America)
• Strong track record in leading high performance teams
• High degree of customer orientation
• Ability to maneuver in consistently changing environment
• Thorough understanding of the complexity, interactions and dynamics within an international company
• Excellent communication expertise, both written and verbal (quality, consistency and accuracy)
• Business fluency in English and Germany (written and spoken)
• Excellent organizational, social media and event planning skills
• Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational plans
• Experience in interacting with critical stakeholders (e.g. business media, NGOs)
• Keen interest in world affairs and business
• Hands-on, can-do attitude
• Passion for sport
