Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Identify opportunities and lead the development of marketing strategies to drive business growth for specific brands and categories of business. Act as primary marketing point of contact and business partner with assigned merchant teams and brand partners.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
strategy development and program management
• Establish a macro view and become an expert in a category’s business, competitive landscape, and customer needs
• Lead the development of insightful, strategic, holistic strategies to grow a category or brand
• Work with marketing teams to ensure plans are developed and executed in a manner that aligns with strategic intent
• Develop learning plans to identify and track program KPIs and alter strategies with lessons learned
• Plan and manage initiative budget inclusive of vendor funding
business communications, relationship building, partner management
• Represent partner merchant team’s business needs and priorities to broader marketing organization
• Lead Marketing relationship with key merchant partners: EVP, SVPs & VPs; act as primary communication liaison from merchant partners to marketing
• Lead Marketing relationship with exclusive and national brand partners
• Establish and maintain partnerships with internal partners responsible for bringing strategies to life for our customer (marketing and other teams at Kohl’s)

• Manage direct reports to achieve team goals in accordance with Company policies and practices
• Provide leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise
• Create an effective work environment by setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communication
• Develop team through coaching, providing regular performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments, and establishing development plans
QUALIFICATIONS
required
• Bachelor's degree.
• 7+ years of related Marketing strategy experience
• Experience in managing direct reports
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
preferred
• MBA
• Prefer experience in retail marketing
• Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical skills
