Description
THE DIRECTOR, GLOBAL EXPERIENCE DESIGN AND ACTIVATION will represent the unique fusion and repurposing of some more familiar industries/roles:
• Hospitality/concierge: creating systems and standards that help quickly resolve workplace issues, anticipate needs and drive high user satisfaction.
• Productivity coach: helping employees leverage new workplace designs, aligning practices, technology, spaces and services at the individual and team levels.
• Matchmaker: designing ways to connect people and ideas, accelerating idea flow and strengthening culture; improving the quality and quantity of interaction
• Event designer: seeing activation through the lens of space design, learning/meeting objectives, community engagement and shared experiences
The Experience Design team works closely with Workplace Design and Communications teams within the Workplace Experience function, weaving together these mindsets, as well as expertise in design thinking, behavior change, and creative strategy, to create a seamless, intuitive and productivity experience for all Nike employees.
The Director will drive a user-centric, multidisciplinary approach to creating the experiences, practices and standards that Nike employees need to thrive in the workplace. The Director and his/her team will use the data, insights and resources of WD+C Innovation and other WD+C functions to define experience standards that will use the data, insights and resources of WD+C Innovation and other functions to define experience standards that will influence the design and delivery of WD+C's portfolio.
Qualifications
• Experience in one or more analogous industries, such as hospitality, services, design or community management.
• Proven passion and expertise in designing better experiences for users in any industry, leveraging design thinking, behavioral or environmental psychology, organizational design and culture, and other relevant disciplines.
• Exceptional creative strategy and strategic problem solving capabilities
• Experience in leading & managing global teams (with employees who are not co-located) in a matrixed reporting structure
• Proven ability to create impactful arguments, presentations and/or workshops/facilitation efforts to evangelize the work
• High profile communication skills and the ability to influence multiple business partners and stakeholders at all levels, including C suite, with differing points of view
• Experience in developing and managing strategic partnerships with external providers.
• Ability to operate independently and effectively in an ambiguous environment
• Successful background working in and navigating a corporate matrix environment
• Strong project management skills and an ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
