As our Color Designer II your mission will be to elevate the Nike product experience with a focus on both the art & science of Color. You'll drive color excellence through the connection of design, development and manufacturing.
You'll focus on bringing to life the seasonal category color direction that is trend
relevant to the category consumer through color application.
Accountabilities:
• Color specialist at the product and collection level.
• Planning and executing the product color details and reviewing all samples, troubleshooting achievability issues
• Clearly communicating changes to ensure timely completion of each project.
• Building awareness of current color trends, through fashion, art, design and sports-related products through market research to keep abreast of consumer needs.
• Providing color support for design team as needed outside of assigned product load.
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Design, Art, Fashion or a related field
• 5-7 years' relevant work experience or an Associate's of Art degree from an accredited art school; 4 years' experience in a design environment working with colors, palette development and color trends
• Deep understanding of fashion design including knowledge of visual design concepts, including color compatibility and color placement and a keen sense of materials and finishes
• Ability to apply and perform design skills, including sketching, concept ideation, color theory and visual presentation
• Knowledge of product design and development process
• Familiarity with product manufacturing processes, including apparel materials and dyes
• Demonstrated knowledge of Macintosh computers and Photoshop, Free Hand and/or Illustrator; preferably in a Mac environment
