Every few months our design library hosts an exhibit on different design topics -- a recent exhibit featured "Rockets, Robots and Ray Guns." And there's also our bi-annual design conferences where the entire staff gets together to swap ideas and inspire each other.

As our Graphic Designer II your mission will be designing graphics for products that will be created
and sold to consumers. Including original concepts, selection of appropriate materials and techniques, and modifications to ensure manufacturability.
Your focus will be bringing to life the seasonal category creative narrative through graphic design that is trend relevant to the category consumer.
Accountabilities:
• Using advanced design skills to create original graphic and/or textile designs that appropriately
• reflect Nike's Design ethos.
• Effectively using computerized systems in design process_Provides appropriate materials to designers, developers, account managers, and/or graphic separators for the creation of separations, embroidery, and trims.
• For textiles, producing textile repeats for production purposes.
• Working with design management and category team members in design, development, and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price points, merchandising needs, product creation dates/gates are met, design tools are effectively utilized and cross-functional teamwork occurs as appropriate.
• Creating graphics that are Industry leading, trend right and that consistently incorporate
• consumer/athlete insights through powerful storytelling, emotional connectivity and relevance.
• Communicating and presenting design concepts; producing presentation materials in conjunction with design and category teams that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences.
• Building awareness of current trends, color, technology, and sport-related products through
• research and travel.
• Working with design management and/or more senior designers to actively gain experience, enhance design skills, and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products,
• and processes.
• Participating in activities that increase understanding and working knowledge of products, product
• lines, product development process, commercialization process, and the specific markets in which Nike does business.
• Participating in forum with category consumers to deepen consumer insights for product classifications.
• Consistently demonstrating process proficiency through best practices, visualization and
• communication of ideas, and Digital Tools.
• Maintaining healthy cross-functional relationships and builds matrix relationships outside of immediate team.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic or Textile Design
• 5 years' related experience
• 2 years' additional related experience in lieu of a degree
• Proven ability to apply and perform graphic design skills, including drawing/sketching, typography, concept ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a great portfolio of non-computer based creative art and graphic design
• Knowledge of apparel products and processes
• Knowledge and sensitivity to trends influencing design and the athletic industry
• Demonstrated high-level of expertise utilizing graphic design software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives
• Strong information-seeking skills and a drive to make things happen
• Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher management
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group and to network and utilize internal and external resources
• Ability to exercise a high-degree of professionalism
• Demonstrated ability to create market appropriate innovative graphics/textiles within set timelines
• Ability to understand and incorporate marketing principles and apply to design
• Accustomed to working in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment
• Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes
